- Cathedral of Porvoo - Originally a Catholic church, now a Lutheran one from medieval times. The stone church was likely constructed in the 1450s, and the ground beneath served as a graveyard for Porvoo’s citizens for centuries. Observe the ancient wall paintings, find dates on the lanterns, learn the purpose of the ship under the ceiling, ponder the statue of Alexander I in the church, and admire this historic Christian church that Finland holds in high regard. Visits depend on opening hours.
