During a storm near Positano, the sailors reportedly heard a voice saying “Posa, posa!” (“Put down! Put down!”).
Marina Grande Beach, located at the base of Positano’s cliffside town, is the most famous beach in the area.
The MAR Positano (Roman Archaeological Museum) at Santa Maria Assunta, opened on July 18, 2018, is an archaeological site with museum-like features. The underground complex includes two crypts and a room from a Roman villa. The frescoed room’s walls from the imperial era are the only example of Roman villa wall paintings on the Amalfi Coast.
