- Pompeii Archaeological Park - Embark on a 2-hour guided walking tour of the Pompeii Archaeological site with an official guide! Following the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD, the city was buried under a deluge of lapilli and lava, preserving its artifacts and infrastructure through the ages.
- Forum - The Civil Forum was the heart of daily life in the city, serving as the center for all major public buildings related to city administration, justice, business management, trade activities like markets, and the main places of citizen worship.
- Tempio di Giove Capitolino - The Temple of Jupiter commands the north side of the Forum, with the scenic backdrop of Mount Vesuvius. When the colony was established (80 BC), the temple underwent significant renovation, transforming into a true Capitolium with three cult statues of Jupiter, Juno, and Minerva, resembling those of the Capitolium in Rome, placed on a high base for visibility to all in the Forum square.
- Macellum - The Macellum features a tuff quadriporticus with an elevated worship hall on the eastern side, aligned with the entrance. Copies of two marble statues, a female and a male armed figure, are located in the niches of the side wall, along with a fragment of a larger statue, likely of an emperor, Titus or Vespasian, indicating the area’s dedication to the imperial cult. To the left is a room for sacred board meetings, and to the right, a large room with a masonry counter, possibly for selling fish.
- Via dell’Abbondanza - Via dell’Abbondanza was the main street (decumanus maximus) of ancient Pompeii, running east/west from the Forum to Porta Sarno. In ancient times, the street was bustling and lively with numerous shops, workshops (“officinae”), cafes, snack-bars, and restaurants offering food and drink.
- Stabian Baths (Terme Stabiane) - The Forum Baths, located behind the Temple of Jupiter, date back to the years following the founding of the veteran colony by General Silla (80 BC). Separate entrances were provided for women’s and men’s quarters. The men’s section includes an apodyterium (dressing room), also used as a tepidarium (for medium temperature baths), frigidarium (for cold baths), and calidarium (for hot baths). Like many buildings in Pompeii, the baths suffered significant damage during the earthquake of 62 AD.
- Lupanar - The Lupanar of Pompeii is the most renowned brothel in the ancient Roman city of Pompeii, notable for the erotic paintings on its walls. Lupanar is Latin for “brothel.” The Pompeii lupanar is also referred to as Lupanare Grande. The brothel’s prostitutes were primarily Greek and Oriental slaves, who were compensated between two and eight Asses (a glass of wine cost one As) for their services.
- Casa del Fauno - The House of the Faun (Italian: Casa del Fauno), constructed during the 2nd century BC, was one of the largest and most impressive private residences in Pompeii, Italy, housing numerous great works of art. It stands as one of the most opulent aristocratic houses from the Roman Republic, offering a better reflection of this period than most archaeological evidence found even in Rome itself.
- Teatro Grande - The Large Theater of Pompeii was constructed by the Romans on the slope of a hill in the area, utilizing the natural depression of the mountain to create a magnificent auditorium divided into five sectors. The stage hosted tragedies from Greco-Roman traditions.
- Basilica - The Basilica, spanning 1,500 square meters, was the most lavish building in the Forum, used for conducting business and administering justice.
