• Potamies - Our journey begins in the lush and quintessential Cretan village of Potamies. Here, we will visit a traditional farm to witness animal milking and engage in local activities like cheese making. Guests will have the chance to sample traditional products such as fresh cheese, olive oil, and rakomelo!
• Aposelemis Dam - Our next destination is the Aposelemis Dam, the largest water supply project in Crete. The village of Sfendili lies submerged beneath the dam’s waters, with its remarkable old houses visible on the water’s surface. This area is also a natural wetland, home to a variety of bird species.
• Ano Kera - We will then ascend via dirt roads, passing through the “Ebassas” gorge. The breathtaking view of the majestic mountains and the untamed beauty of nature will be truly rewarding. During a brief stop, the guide will gather various local herbs (oregano, thyme, sage) as the Cretans traditionally did.
• Windmills Of Lasithi Plateau - Next, we’ll visit the longest line of windmills in Crete, located at the entrance of the Lasithi Plateau. This stop offers a panoramic photo opportunity and insights into the history of windmills in Crete!
• Dikteon Cave - Our journey continues on the Lassithi Plateau, where you will have free time for coffee or the option to explore the impressive Cave of Zeus (cave entry ticket not included). This is the legendary birthplace of the God Zeus!
• Ano Kera - Following this, we will savor delicious authentic cuisine, cooked in a wood oven at one of the finest traditional taverns. The meal includes food with wine and water. Please inform us of any food allergies or special dietary requirements.
• Krasi - Lunch will be enjoyed at the most traditional tavern in the area, featuring wood oven-cooked dishes and local wine!
• Platanus Tree - Our final stop is in the traditional village of Krasi. Upon reaching the village square, visitors will be greeted by three enormous plane trees and Vryses. Among them stands the largest and oldest plane tree, over 2000 years old.
• Mochos - Our adventure concludes with a breathtaking panoramic view stretching from Sissi to Analipsi. Be sure to capture stunning photos that encapsulate the scenic beauty of this unforgettable experience.
