A must do trip - An absolutely amazing trip. Let me start by saying that I am afraid of heights, however I would recommend this trip to anyone. You literally go right up into the mountains and the views are absolutely spectacular. Our guide Leo, knows his stuff and we felt very safe in his driving skills. He stopped to let us smell the various herbs along the way, gave excellent talks on local life and ensured that we all had a great time and let us take in the views. We met goats, visited local villages, tried local wares and had lunch at a lovely taverna. It was a very engaging trip. If you really want to see Crete from a different perspective, then this is the trip for you. The vast majority of it is off road and there was a lot of jostling and bumping about in the Landrover so do not do this if you are pregnant or have back issues. Photo opportunities are plenty.

A Magical Tour Through the Cretan Mountains - We had the absolute pleasure of joining a tour through the stunning Cretan mountains, and it was truly one of the highlights of our trip. Vangelis, our guide, was nothing short of exceptional — warm, knowledgeable, and effortlessly brought our group together, creating a sense of camaraderie that made the experience even more special.
Travelling with children can sometimes be challenging, but Vangelis went above and beyond to ensure every detail was taken care of. His attentiveness and patience made it easy for us to relax and fully enjoy the journey.
Thanks to him, we now have a deeper appreciation for the island of Crete — from the ancient olive groves and fresh herbs he picked for us to smell along the way, to the generous pours of traditional raki that gave us a real taste of Cretan hospitality.
One of our favorite memories was making mini clay pottery, which now proudly sits in our living room as a reminder of this unforgettable day.
We’ll definitely be back — and when we return, we wouldn’t hesitate to join another tour with Vangelis. Highly recommended for anyone wanting an authentic and heartwarming glimpse into Crete’s natural beauty and culture.

Highlight of Our Holiday - We absolutely loved this trip and it was definitely the highlight of our holiday. Our driver Chris was brilliant; I can’t rate him enough! We learnt so much about the island, history and culture and the lunch was excellent.

4X4 Crete Tour - FUN - Enjoyed our trip with Christian, our tour guide. Very informative and fun!!! Got to see parts of Crete we had not seen yet and feeding the goats was terrific!!!! Going thru the Sfentoni Cave was fun and interesting as well. Our food was VERY good and so much of it - only wish I could've eaten some more it. Loved the views from all the places we were in and definitely recommend this tour to anyone unless you don't do well on bumpy roads or get car sick sitting in the back of the 4X4.

Great Excursion, Mistaken Itinerary - This was a decent trip for me and my family. The 4 x 4s were great fun, and our guides were engaging. The lunch was wonderfully hearty.
However, the trip WAS NOT as described. The itinerary that we booked included a trip to Lykkos ruins and the Lasithi Plateau and we did not do this. We ended up going to Rethymnon, did the Dam (as described) and going to Preveli beach instead. I was not given any explanation about why this was the case and I am not sure whose fault this is. In any case, TripAdvisor description of this activity needs to change before other people make the same mistake we did.
My 4 stars is a reflection of what we participated in, not the mistaken itinerary.
