Our initial stop is Charlottenburg Palace, constructed in the 17th century as a summer retreat for Queen Sophia Charlotte of Prussia. Visitors will be captivated by the opulently adorned rooms in the baroque style, featuring luxurious furnishings and extravagant interiors. The porcelain room is sure to leave a lasting impression! - Neues Palais - At 11 o’clock, we will proceed to our second destination. We will travel to Potsdam, the former residence of kings and emperors. Our first highlight will be the magnificent New Palace (exterior view only) - the final grand architectural project endorsed by the Prussian king Frederick the Great. Built at the conclusion of the Seven Years’ War, it was intended to affirm Prussia’s significance as a European power.
- Sanssouci Palace - Next, we will visit the most magnificent site in Potsdam - the summer palace of King Frederick the Great, Sanssouci (exterior view only). It was here that “Old Fritz” hosted renowned philosophers of the Enlightenment era, such as Voltaire and the encyclopedist D’Alembert.
- Hollandisches Viertel - We will take a 1-hour break, allowing time to dine, take photographs, and explore the charming Dutch Quarter.
- Cecilienhof - Our final stop is Cecilienhof Palace (exterior view only), which will take approximately 30 minutes to reach. It was here, after World War II, that three world powers convened to determine Germany’s future. During the panoramic exterior visit, we will discuss the conference details, led by the prominent figures Winston Churchill, Harry Truman, and Joseph Stalin.
