• Palach Square - Join the guide in the heart of Prague for a 2.5-hour walking tour of Prague’s Castle and Castle District. • Vltava River - Begin by crossing the Vltava River, taking in the views of its bridges while the guide shares intriguing insights into Prague’s history and key landmarks.
• St Nicholas Church - After crossing the river, explore Malá Strana, the Baroque district nestled below the castle walls. Wander the cobblestone streets and capture photos at the 18th-century St Nicholas Church and the World War II memorial.
• Hradcany - Then, take a tram up to the castle, entering through the North Gate, and traverse the Royal Gardens and Powder Bridge into the grand Hradčany Square.
• Schwarzenbersky palac - Admire the Schwarzenberg Palace and the statue of Czechoslovakia’s first president, Tomas Masaryk, in the square, before proceeding to the Second Courtyard. Experience the grandeur of the former Hapsburg Empire in this neoclassical courtyard, and then enter the breathtaking Third Courtyard, home to the impressive St Vitus Cathedral.
• St. Vitus Cathedral - Enter with the guide to explore the magnificent interior of the cathedral, one of Europe’s largest.
• St. George’s Basilica - Move past the Golden Gate, Vladislav Hall, and St George’s Basilica to Golden Lane, a charming street of cottages that once housed castle archers, artisans, and goldsmiths.
• Golden Lane - Step inside some of the 11 cottages, some transformed into quaint boutique shops, and others styled to depict medieval life, and learn about Czech writer Franz Kafka’s time here between 1916 and 1917.
• Prague Castle - Exit the castle near the Eastern Black Tower and enjoy the panoramic city views from the hillside.
• Charles Bridge - The tour concludes here or at Charles Bridge, where you bid farewell to the guide.
