- Prague Castle - Explore the captivating 1,100-year-old history of the world’s largest castle complex on a small group 3-hour walking tour of Prague Castle and the Royal District with a historian guide. This guided tour will lead you to the majestic Prague Castle atop Hradčany Hill, through the Royal Garden, and over the Stag Moat. Discover the ancient structures, built and rebuilt in every architectural style, including Romanesque, Gothic, Baroque, Rococo, Renaissance, and Neoclassical monuments. Gain insights from your historian guide about how these buildings have been bombarded by artillery, plundered by marauding armies, and neglected by indifferent Austrian Emperors over the years. Let your guide bring this history to life with their extensive knowledge of the country’s turbulent past. It is recommended to book an afternoon tour if your schedule permits, as the castle complex is often less crowded then.
- Ball Game Hall in the Royal Garden - Walk past the Renaissance Ball Game Hall, where sporty aristocrats played tennis with the Emperor. Admire the Renaissance sgraffito depicting the allegories of virtues, arts, and sciences.
- Queen Anne’s Summer Palace - Known as the purest Renaissance architecture outside Italy, Queen Anne’s summer house in the Royal Gardens of Prague Castle was commissioned by Ferdinand I in the mid-1500s. It was later converted into an astronomical observatory by Rudolf II. Among the guests were Tycho de Brahe, Johannes Kepler, and even the emperor himself, who passed away here after losing the royal title.
- St. Vitus Cathedral - St. Vitus Cathedral in Prague is one of the most monumental cathedrals in Central Europe and is a prime example of Gothic architecture. Founded in the first half of the 14th century, it was finally completed 600 years later in the first half of the 19th century. The cathedral houses the royal crypt of Czech sovereigns and patron saints. Of particular interest are the baroque tomb of St. John of Nepomuk, the first martyr of the Seal of the Confessional, cast in silver, and the Gothic St. Wenceslas Chapel, which contains relics of the saint.
- Old Royal Palace - Stroll through the magnificent Vladislav Hall, built at the end of the 15th century, combining Late Gothic with the new Renaissance style. It was the venue for coronation festivities, banquets, and knights’ tournaments. Knights would enter the hall to participate in jousting competitions in full armor and on horseback through the Riders’ Staircase, designed specifically for that purpose. Enter the Ludwig Wing to see the window through which members of the Czech Estates defenestrated two Austrian governors and their scribe, igniting the Thirty Years’ War, one of the most destructive conflicts in human history.
- St. George’s Basilica - Enter the austere and monumental Romanesque basilica built in the 1100s. Compare its architecture and interior to the Gothic style of the St. Vitus Cathedral.
- Golden Lane - Stroll through this charming, diminutive street originally built in the 16th century to house Rudolf II’s castle guards. Step into the tiny rooms, which now mostly house souvenir shops. There is a museum of medieval armory within the former 14th-century fortification accessible from Golden Lane. Golden Lane is connected with Dalibor Tower, which was once a dungeon.

Highly recommend - Excellent. We wanted a small personal tour... Not a tour with 20+ people. Robert, our guide, was entertaining and very knowledgeable. We also had a two year old in tow in a stroller and had a great time!

Excellent Castle Tour with Katrin! - We had an amazing castle tour with Katrin! We learned so much history about the castle and Lesser Town that we never would have known if we had tried to walk around the castle on our own. Katrin is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. You can tell that she is very passionate about history and enjoys her job. Take this tour... you won't regret it!

The right guide makes all the difference, and Vadim is the BEST! - This was the very best tour we have ever been on! Vadim was an amazing guide, and kept myself and my 15 year old son engaged and fascinated the whole time. His knowledge was extensive, and the interesting facts he shared about Prague's history brought the city to life. I highly recommend booking this tour. My only regret is that we did the tour at the end of our trip instead of the beginning. We were disappointed we didn't get to explore the city with the perspective that Vadim shared. We'll just have to go back.
P.S. We loved the tour so much, we booked one with Insight Cities Vienna right after. 5 stars for that one, too!

Best tour of our trip in the golden triangle - The history of the architecture, nobility, emperors and religion. Our guide was very knowledgeable and personable. He shared many interesting antidotes throughout the tour. He also suggested additional places to visit on our next 2 days in Prague.

Best private Prague Castle Tour you can get! - This is one of the best tours I have ever had. Vadim is simply incredible. What makes his style so noteworthy is how he brings history to life in a way that only the best tour guides/teachers can. When you take this tour he sets the stage for the various historical times periods making sure you understand all the significant ideas of the time as well as the important historical figures. I have not felt so engaged with the history of a place then on this tour. He also knows the best places to stop for some incredible Czech beer and food.

Great Tour and Great Guide! - Vadim was an excellent tour guide! He is extremely knowledgeable and it was obvious that he did the research and knew the material and that he wasn't reading from a script. He pointed out all the little details I would have missed. He was able to answer all our questions and was very friendly and kept everyone engaged in the tour. The best part was he knew a great pub or brewery near everything! Great tour highly recommend!

Vadim and the Prague Castle - The Prague Castle and its grounds are beautiful, but unless you go with a guide like Vadim, you'll miss so much of the history and nuances of Czech culture. Vadim is smart, witty, and deeply knowledgable guide.
