- Charles Bridge - Walk across Prague’s oldest bridge, the iconic Charles Bridge, adorned with 30 picturesque statues and boasting the most beautiful Gothic bridge tower in Europe. Built in 1357, legend has it that eggs were mixed into the mortar during its construction. Touch the magical five-star sign to make a wish and feel the power of the saints. This is the heart of Prague, offering a romantic glimpse into the city’s golden past. The bridge is also a famous setting from the first Mission Impossible movie.
Nearby, explore the charming Prague Venice area with its Devil’s Stream side channel and the renowned John Lennon Wall, a symbol of anti-communist protest. At the bridge’s end, discover the magnificent Klementinum, a former Jesuit College now serving as the National Library.
- Staromestske namesti - Wander through the oldest streets to reach the enchanting Old Town Square, a 3D textbook of various architectural styles. Key sights include the baroque St. Nicholas Church, the Kinský Palace with its exquisite rococo facade, the gothic House at the Stone Bell, the spiky-topped Church of Týn, and more. The Square is dominated by the Jan Hus Statue and the Old Town Hall, which was damaged by Nazis in WWII. Visitors are awed by the incredible Astronomical Clock with its hourly show featuring 12 apostles appearing in two windows and a skeleton ringing the bell. Notice the execution site marked by crosses. Visitors can also take a lift to the Town Hall tower for a panoramic view.
- Church of Our Lady before Tyn - Among Prague’s most beautiful Gothic buildings, the Church of Our Lady before Týn is distinguished by its twin spires, making it a prominent Old Town landmark. The renowned Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe is buried here.
- Wenceslas Monument - A notable example of 20th-century architecture.
- Obecni Dum - Prague’s most exquisite Art Nouveau building, the Municipal House features a striking facade with monumental allegorical figures created by some of the finest local artists. The building’s anthropomorphic sculptures are complemented by Art Nouveau floral ornaments and other classical architectural elements. It is a civic building housing Smetana Hall, a renowned concert venue where the Prague Spring festival is held.
- Old Town Hall with Astronomical Clock - The Old Town Hall Tower is one of Prague’s most remarkable buildings. Inside, visitors can climb a staircase or take an elevator to the top for stunning views over the Old Town. The medieval clock on the side of the Old Town Hall Tower delights visitors with the hourly procession of the Twelve Apostles statues.
