Explore Local Agriculture & Flora
As you journey through the valley, you’ll pass by small local farms and plantations where mango trees, coconut palms, sugarcane, and other native plants thrive. Your guide will share fascinating insights about local crops and traditions.

Nature & Wildlife Spotting

• Cidade Velha - Arrival at Cidade Velha
  The walk concludes in Cidade Velha, Cape Verde’s first capital and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Before heading back, enjoy a brief walking tour through the historic center, passing landmarks such as the Sé Cathedral ruins and Pelourinho (the old pillory).
• Praia - After finishing the hike in the historic Cidade Velha, you’ll embark on the scenic drive back to Praia. Relax and unwind as you return to Praia. Upon arrival, you’ll be dropped off directly at your hotel.

This exceptional hike guides participants through the verdant Ribeira Grande valley, teeming with native flora and fauna. A key attraction is a visit to Cape Verde’s largest and oldest baobab tree, which is over 400 years old — an ideal location for capturing memorable photographs.

Participants will also discover the traditional process of making grogue, Cape Verde’s national beverage, and might even catch a glimpse of the country’s most iconic bird, a proud national emblem.

The adventure concludes in Cidade Velha, the birthplace of Cape Verdean culture and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, participants will explore historical sites such as Rua Banana, the ancient church, and the Pelourinho, before being transported back to their accommodation.
