Along the way, there will be several stops for photography to admire these magnificent mountains. Whether taking the mountain road or navigating the curves, a stop will always be made at turn 17. Departing from Santiago and heading northeast, the journey follows an international route that offers stunning mountain landscapes. Along the way, there will be several stops for photography to admire these magnificent mountains. Whether taking the mountain road or navigating the curves, a stop will always be made at turn 17. In summer, weather permitting, it’s possible to stop, but in winter, snow prevents this. From here, the snail path can be viewed from above. The journey continues to the Portillo Ski Center and Laguna del Inca. In summer, visitors can reach the lagoon’s shore for a short walk, while in winter, the lagoon can only be admired from afar. At the Hotel de Portillo, there is an option for lunch (not included) with a spectacular view of Laguna del Inca. There will be time for photography, and once the exploration is complete, the return to Santiago begins. The approximate travel time is 3 hours.
