Cemorolawang - Once checked into the hotel, the driver will be ready to guide you through Cemara Lawang Village. This charming village is conveniently located near the entrance to Bromo. Immerse yourself in the Hindu Tengger culture; explore the local market, enjoy a cup of coffee in a local home, and stroll through the fields.

Madakaripura Waterfall - Before heading to the hotel in Bromo, a stop at Madakaripura Waterfall is planned. From the parking area, a motorbike ride with a driver is required to reach the entrance gate. A local guide (mandatory) will accompany you to explore the waterfall. Revel in the stunning beauty and tranquil ambiance.

Seruni Point - This is an excellent spot to witness the sunset. From here, enjoy the breathtaking view of the Bromo crater and the Sand Sea.

Bromo Sunrise Tour

King Kong Hill - The tour begins at 3:30 AM from the hotel, with a 45-minute Jeep ride to King Kong View Point (2,600 meters above sea level) to watch the sunrise. It’s advisable to wear a jacket and long pants due to the cold. While waiting for the sunrise, enjoy a hot drink to warm up.

Sand Sea - After sunrise, the Jeep driver will be ready to take you down into the black volcanic Sand Sea. If you wish to explore this magnificent landscape on foot, simply ask the driver to stop. Otherwise, the driver will take you to the parking area, where the hike to Mount Bromo begins.

Luhur Poten Temple - The Jeep will park near Luhur Poten Temple, which is still actively used by the local Hindu community. It is often closed, but if open, request a look inside.

Mount Bromo - A 45-minute walk leads to the top of Mount Bromo. Take your time to appreciate this inspiring greyish landscape.

Bromo is an active volcano, not the highest peak, situated in the middle of the Sand Sea, a protected nature reserve since 1919. The Indonesian Center of Volcanology issues warnings based on the volcano’s activity.

Blue Fire & Ijen Crater Lake Experience

Ijen Crater - The mesmerizing blue fire phenomenon is visible only at night, necessitating a midnight departure. The drive to Paltuding, where the hike to the crater lake begins, takes about 2 hours. Ijen Crater Lake is one of the largest blue fire areas globally. Blue fire is a chemical reaction between gases released by the volcano and the air, not to be confused with lava. Upon arrival in Paltuding, a local guide will provide gas masks. Descending into the crater of the active Ijen volcano, which contains the world’s most acidic lake, is hazardous. This part of the tour is only for those in good physical condition and is undertaken at your own risk. Afterward, return to the caldera to witness the sunrise and the crater lake. Be inspired by the green-blue lake surrounded by brownish crater walls. Explore at your leisure.

Jagir Waterfall - Jagir Waterfall is located on the way to Ketapang Harbour. If time and energy permit, this gem is worth a visit.

Ketapang Ferry - You will be dropped off at Ketapang Harbour, where you can catch the ferry to Bali.

Returning to Surabaya is also an option for an additional fee of USD 25.
