Amazing Day with the Family - We had considered a similar excursion through our cruise line but wanted to avoid the large crowds. This tour, though slightly more expensive, was worth every penny! We got incredibly lucky and had Jesus as our host for a private family tour. He was wonderful, answering all our questions and getting us to each site before the massive tour buses arrived.
Honestly, based on what I'd read online, Progreso didn't seem like a particularly exciting stop. However, Jesus and his team transformed it into one of the best excursions we've ever experienced! It was a blast, followed by a relaxing swim at the beach club. The food was good, the drinks were cold, and our kids had an absolute blast. I'd book this tour again in a heartbeat.

Good times on Sergio's 5 in 1 Tour! - SO glad we booked this excursion on the advice of strangers on the internet. My husband and I learned another couple on our cruise had Sergio's 5-in-1 tour booked but a third couple had not yet they were graciously included when I texted the request from the prior port stop.
There were two vans full of adventurers on our day; far preferable to the giant buses we saw our cruisemates waiting in long lines to board. The vans were air conditioned and comfortable.
Our experienced guide, Uva, taught us about Mayan culture at the ruins, we saw wild flamingos wading in the shallow lagoons, we toured the historic but still functioning salt flats and finished our adventure at Sergio's Beach House. After being warmly welcomed, we dined on homemade food prepared by family members and enjoyed freshly prepared cocktails. The property was spacious with both shaded tables and beach loungers so we could enjoy the large pool and dip into the Gulf. There is even a small gift shop to pick up souvenirs.
Before our arrival, there was inclement weather and our guide advised it was not optimal for a visit. I'd rather go home curious so I could return on a future trip than be disappointed about lack of water clarity and be muddy from trudging through swampy trails.
Overall, it was a great excursion I will happily recommend to others. All but two people that day truly enjoyed their time. There was an uptight senior couple who seemily are never satisfied. (Don't trust the review with horrible grammar and lack of punctuation!).
Gracias Uva (in blue shirt on the left in photo) and family for a delightful adventure. We look forward to seeing you again!

A great excursion when cruising Progresso! - Ever hear the phrase, happy customer's don't complete surveys? I am definitely guilty of that until I witnessed a grumpy American go off on my guide and I now feel it necessary to report my experience.
The guides took us to all the areas promised and provided a historical explanation of what we were seeing with perfect English. They kept us on time so we weren't late for the ship and reimbursed us for a stop as it was flooded and a waste of precious time.
I can't say enough about Uva as he was so kind, charismatic and knowledgeable. Their hospitality was unmatched and to end the tour at Sergio's Beach house complete with great Spanish food, a full bar, pool and a beach to enjoy before we were delivered back to the port with time to shop! I am greatful for the experience and will definitely recommend them to friends, family and clients visiting The Yucatan in the future. I wish I could have stayed longer!

Just book it!!!! - UVA! We had the BEST time! Your hospitality and knowledge of your hometown was phenomenal. I learned so much history while driving through and visiting all the places you took us. You come alive as you tell the stories and share your love for the area.
I felt so welcomed by your family at the beach house and I felt like I was made an honorary member, especially when you let me hold your adorable 4 month old Chihuahua, Rocky. ❤️
My whole group loved our excursion and really felt bad for you when that one lady was being soooo rude and unreasonable….but there’s always one in every group and nothing you could have done or offered would have made her happy. Your ratings and reviews speak for themselves and I know you will continue to touch the lives of everyone fortunate enough to book with you.

Lots of info & great beach house - The experience with Sergio’s was amazing! We had a nice big van to accommodate us with ac. We went to the ruins, salts, & saw some flamingos. Due to storms and rain we weren’t able to see the rest but the beach house more than made up for it! The food was amazing fresh and we were able to order some ala cart menu items that were delicious. The pool and beach were really nice & the bar had the drinks flowing & great music! I would definitely recommend this tour and do it again if I’m ever in Progreso. The whole team was knowledgeable, accommodating and provided great service. Thank you!

It’s like you visited a family friend in Progreso - We had a fabulous time! Uvaldo our guide did an excellent job narrating our trip and telling of his community and Mayan heritage. The previous nights weather cancelled one part of our tour but who can change the weather? Even so we loved the hospitality, delicious food, cold drinks, and hanging beachside/poolside at Sergio’s! Would recommend it to all ages! Muchas gracias for a wonderful day in Progreso!

Good fun tour - Great trip, Uva was a well educated tour guide. Van was well air conditioned and comfortable for all of us. The ruins were very educational and interesting. The salt mines were interesting. Bought local salt for $1. Couldn’t do ceynote swim because of hurricane rainfall. The beach break was relaxing and good fun atmosphere. Definitely tour again.

Worst tour we have ever taken - We were very much looking forward to this tour and saw many 5 star reviews, unfortunately we were not pleased with it. We took the 5 in 1 tour, WE followed the pick up instructions one you pay and get a wrist band before the tour, was so disorganized pick up, that since we were first in line we were the only ones who paid and received wrist bands. Based on the van photos and somewhere read it small group, we were surprised to have a group together with another van, so there were too many people and no personalize service we are use to. We went to the ruins and all we heard the whole time was we need to hurry walked up one ruin quickly glanced at the others talked for about 5 minutes and were out f there. Next stop salt mine - also from photos there were people in the water and the guides showing the salt, I assume letting you touch - we had none of that we stood outside talked again for about 5 minutes and then there is a market and a taco, but were were told over and over again to hurry up, no time to buy - although we did get the Taco, and to give credit where credit is due, it was the best taco ever! There was suppose to be a stop at the flamingos, again saw photos we got take a quick look out the window, next stop was suppose to be the cenotes, which we couldn't due as they were closed due to storms, other cenotes were open as others that took tours and bragged about theie experience. Next stop the beach house. Cute quaint place, but again no organization, walked in and was told nothing, not help yourself to the bar and buffet, where the restrooms were nothing we were left to figure it out for ourself. The bar for future is extremely cheap liquor and the buffet food was gold and lousy. Now because I was standing there when someone asked for a refund for not stopping at the cenotes they did say oh instead you can order something off the additional menu and drinks with the REAL liquor. Otherwise it was extra. We ordered a burger that presented itself well dressed unfortunately it was a frozen, overcooked burger. Again to give credit where credit was due the Guac on the pay menu was very good. We at this point were a bit frustrated and we are many many cruises in and have taken many excursions mostly private and this was the worst we have ever experience. We actually went to our guide and ask if we could call a taxi back to the ship. He says to me let me talked to "your" van driver and see what he can do, at which time I had to tell him he was my van driver, and I was right behind him asking questions in the van and he had no idea who I was. We did get a ride back from Jesus who was extremely kind and personable on the way back, and of course tipped him. Now if you don't have high expectations you might enjoy this, we fortunately have had much better experiences elsewhere and would not recommend the tour at all.
