A wonderful tour of the Douro Valley Wineries - My wife and I had a truly wonderful day in the Douro Valley with Oporto Road Trips, and we’re really grateful for how well everything was handled from start to finish.
From the moment we booked, communication was clear and prompt. The night before our tour they confirmed all the details and sent us our guide’s name, contact info, and exactly when and where we’d be picked up, which made us feel very well looked after.
Our guide, José Pedro, was fantastic. He clearly knows the Douro and its wineries inside and out, having worked at one himself. He chose smaller producers for us to visit, which made the whole experience feel very personal and genuine.
Our first stop was Quinta do Cume, where we were given a private tour that walked us through the entire process, from grape selection all the way to bottling. After that, we enjoyed a beautiful boat ride deep into the Douro River Valley. On Pedro’s suggestion, we brought along a bottle of wine from the winery, and sipping it on the boat really made the moment special.
For lunch, Pedro took us to a local spot, Ruby Douro Café, where we enjoyed traditional Portuguese cuisine in a warm, friendly setting. In the afternoon, we visited Vieira de Sousa, a Port wine specialist. We were able to taste some incredible Ports from a smaller house, which felt very different (in a good way) from the big, more commercial Port lodges.
At the end of the day, we were dropped back at our hotel in Porto feeling like we’d had a truly unique and thoughtfully curated experience. Our time with Pedro and Oporto Road Trips was superb, and we’re very appreciative of the care and effort they put into making this such a memorable day for us.

Beautiful Douro Valley Day Tour - Marina was an excellent tour guide. The douro valley is beautiful. She took us to a small family winery for a tour and tasting, which was lovely. It was so peaceful up there looking out over the Duoro Valley. We then went to a small local restaurant for a family style lunch, which was really good. We made a qucik detour to taste local ports because my husband liked those. All in all, it was a great day. very well planned and fun!

Highly recommended Douro Tour - We had a wonderful tour in the Douro Valley! Pedro was an incredibly funny and attentive guide, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. The schedule was perfectly organized, giving us enough time to see everything without feeling rushed. Highly recommended!

Best day of our trip - Pedro was fantastic!!!! He has such a great personality and sense of humour. The tour itself was amazing! Pedro was so knowledgeable on everything he told us and I left feeling like I learned without being lectured. Every winery we went to dedicated time and compassion to our group, teaching us about their winery and the history surrounding each one. I definitely recommend!! We made some great friends and left tipsy at the very least!!!

Cheila is a great tour guide! - We had a wonderful experience with a private tour with Cheila. She gave us wonderful information and service. She was attentive to us and we enjoyed the views, scenery and wine tour stop. This are of Portugal is amazing and I would think the e tea money for a private tour was worth every penny! Ask for Cheila you won’t be disappointed.

A must do in Porto! - We loved this tour. It was private for my family. 2 adults and 2 kids. Sandro our driver and tour guide made our day pleasant, was very caring with our kids and very thoughtful of everything. Good conversation during our drive, sharing hospitality,history and local charm to our day. Lunch was a typical portuguese meal which I describe as comfort food, it was very good.
River cruise was very nice as well and everything running on time.
Our favorite part was the porto tasting with Teresa from Villa do Souza. She was the most charming lady, very knowledgeable of wine making, sharing stories and making sense of all the process and somehow we left like we knew her since forever. Very genuine and we left with our hearts full after that conversation with her.

Fantastic,no crowds and beautiful scenic venues - Our guide was amazing and very knowledgeable, so amazing to visit family owned and boutique venues,no crowds from a tour bus,so we saw several beautiful venues that we probably wouldn’t have been able to access in a large group. absolutely recommend this tour!!
