Streamline the Process with Skypass! - Once again, the Skypass staff made our departure process streamlined and efficient, in addition to being very pleasant to deal with. They look after every detail in a cheerful and professional manner, and we would absolutely recommend the service to other travellers.

SkyPass-do you really need it? - My family (2 adults/2 children) and my in-laws (2 adults/2 teens/1 child) were traveling into PLS airport on a Saturday afternoon. I had heard stories about how crazy the airport can be, and that there were options for by-passing the majority of the chaos and the long line that may or may not form upon arrival and departure. After a brief Google search, we found SkyPass Caribbean.
One way, it's $75 per person to sign up for SkyPass, so it was a $600 investment for our family. Weekend travel through PLS airport is reportedly much busier than weekday travel, and since we were landing on a Saturday, we decided to purchase it for our arrival flight. When we disembarked our flight, we immediately and easily found a SkyPass Representative who guided us through the airport. There is a separate customs line for those signed up with SkyPass. Everyone else gets to go through one line. If there are multiple planes landing at once, or if you are at the back of your plane, as we were, you can anticipate having the entire plane go before you.
My in-laws did not opt for the SkyPass. They had no real complaints about the line and were through it probably 20-30 minutes behind us. We were still waiting for our ground transportation, unfortunately.
On our departure flight home, we decided to use SkyPass again, while our other family members did not. The PLS airport is not large, and at least for us flying Delta (and presumably everyone else), you needed a printed boarding pass since you board the planes on the tarmac and there are no boarding pass scanners as you board the planes. We arrived after lunch, and it was extremely busy, even according to the SkyPass staff. They directed us on where to go to print our boarding pass, then brought us to a special, shorter security line. I should note that we did not check luggage, but if we had, that would have added an additional line to wait in. With all the chaos, it was nice having someone direct us to where we needed to be. My in-laws did not opt to do the SkyPass, and somehow they were pulled out of the lengthy check in and security lines and had an expedited experience, for an unknown reason. So their experience seems to be an anomaly.
BOTTOM LINE-did we need it? No. But, keeping in mind there's no Clear or TSA precheck, so if you're used to having some kind of service that expedites your airport check in experience, this could certainly be it for you. It can definitely be a time saver, and if you have a long journey with layovers to get to Turks and Caicos, I would certainly be interested in getting through the airport as fast as possible. If you've traveled through this airport before and know what you're doing, you probably don't need it; it's just more of a convenience. Would we sign up for it again? Probably.
I think it's best viewed as an insurance policy-if you need it, you'll be glad you have it, and if you don't, your money is already spent.
Additionally, my husband poked his head in the "VIP" lounge at the airport-it was VERY small, had AC, and was very crowded. That would not have been worth it for us-it's certainly not similar to airport lounges we have seen at US based airports. The upstairs was much cooler than the downstairs. The airport was by far my least favorite part of the trip.

Worth it! - So easy especially if you have children. Checked in quickly, dropped off our bags with the airline and was walked through security so fast. Less than 5 minutes total. We used it only for departure and had no regrets.

Happy New Year - Worked out perfectly!!! Our departure was on 2 Jan so the airport was extremely busy. Security Checkpoint was backed up to the airline counters. Soon as we dropped our bags off we walked to the counter and was escorted to the front of the line where we immediately showed our passports and went thru screening with 3 mins of check in. The wait was a minimum of 45 mins to an hr. Would highly recommend during peak seasons.

Saved time from going through a long wait line - It definitely speeded up the security screening process. There was little advice about where to go or what to do after that.
