Anna's knowledge is impressive - With only 6 people on a tour, there is scope for plenty of personal attention for questions and specific interests. Anna was kind enough to research the NZ machine gunners' contribution and battle positions for our tour, as we'd given her a bit of notice.
Anna was exceptionally knowledgeable and informative. Her opinions on General Mark Clark were in line with my late grandfather's!

Excellent tour for WW2 history buffs - Anna was a friendly, knowledgeable and entertaining guide. She picked us up from the Cassino station and spent several hours with us. We visited various sites that were relevant to the events of 1944.
Anna is a Cassino local and her knowledge about the events that occurred during the battles for Cassino was incredible.
Anna answered my many questions and was the perfect guide for a WW2 history buff like myself.
She even dropped us at our accommodation at the end of the tour! If you’re going to Cassino make sure you book a tour with Anna, I cannot recommend her enough! 5/5

10 out of ten Tour - We took the Monte Cassino Battlefield Tour as my father had fought there in WW2 as part of the Grenadier Guards Unit. Anna kindly agreed to move the Tour start time to 2pm as we were not able to get there by 9am.We all thoroughly enjoyed the day , as she had taken time out to research my Dad's route through Cassino, and showed us actual photographs of what he would have seen at the time. She had an immense knowledge of the events and timelines and the area, which helped to build the picture of what he went through. She also took us to the Commonwealth Cemeteries, which was very moving .Also gave us a tour of the Abbey which was beautiful. Can't recommend this lady enough-she was thoroughly entertaining and kind, as well as willing to impart of the knowledge she held. Five star Tour by a five star lady. Big thankyou and love to Anna.

Anna brought the history of the battles of Cassino to life for us. - My wife and I had a wonderful afternoon tour of the Cassino valley, township and finally the Montecasino Monastery. This monastery was destroyed in the fighting and has since been completely rebuilt to the plans of how it was at the time when it was bombed, with even the icons repainted in the abbey's church. The town of Cassino has been rebuilt, and the valley replanted with trees to replace all those cut down to aid the defenders. Anna knows her subject well and describes it so well that we were caught up in action and some of the experiences back in WWII. She recreated a series for us, with enthusiasm, and with respect for all the people who were involved at the time, attackers and defenders, and the local people who have rebuilt their lives in this area after WWII. We strongly recommend her Battlefield Tour.

Monte Cassino Battlefield Tour with Historian Guide Anna Priora - This small group tour was one of the most meaningful and memorable experiences of our trip to Italy. Guided by the exceptionally knowledgeable Anna Priora, we were taken through the history of the Battle of Monte Cassino with both scholarly insight and deep respect.
The Experience: Travelling by a comfortable small bus after we took a train to Cassino from Rome, we visited several key sites including a panoramic viewpoint of the valley, the Commonwealth War Cemetery, and the Monte Cassino Abbey. At each location, Anna provided rich historical context, thoughtfully explaining the military strategies, sacrifices, and broader significance of the battle.
What set this tour apart was the ample time allowed at each site and the opportunity to ask questions and engage in more in-depth conversations. Anna's ability to tailor her commentary to the group’s interests made the tour feel intimate and personalized.
For our family, the experience was especially poignant—my father stood on the battlefield where his own father had fought. Anna’s respectful and informed guidance added a profound layer to this moment, one we will never forget.
In Summary: If you have a personal or historical interest in World War II, this tour is an outstanding choice. Anna brings both passion and precision to her work, and her ability to connect the past to the present makes the tour not only educational, but deeply human.
Highly recommended for history enthusiasts, families with veterans in their lineage, or anyone seeking a thoughtful exploration of this pivotal site in Italy’s wartime history.

Monte Cassino tour - A brilliant tour around Cassino examining the positions of the Allies and the Axis forces during the 4 battles of 1944. Then a drive up to the famous monastery at Monte Cassino and a look round at the incredible restoration and rebuilding of the monastery after it was destroyed. The views were simply amazing. Anna was a great tour guide with so much information about the battles and was very accomodating for any requests during the tour. Thank you Anna!
