- Miniera di Monteponi - Monteponi is one of the most significant mining sites in the Iglesias region. This impressive complex is partially open to visitors, featuring notable areas such as the elegant Villa Bellavista, originally the management’s first headquarters and now home to the Erminio Ferraris after-work association, as well as Pozzo Sella, Pozzo Vittorio Emanuele, and the Villamarina Gallery, all accessible today. The Monteponi Mine is just one of the attractions accessible by motorbike via an easy on/off-road route along the key mining paths of the Iglesiente.
- Porto Flavia - Known as “the gateway to the sea,” this unique ancient mining port overlooks the stunning sea of Masua and the Pan di Zucchero stack, a natural monument standing 133 meters tall. This elevated port significantly enhanced the efficiency of loading and transporting minerals directly onto ships. Today, visitors can explore the site after traveling a scenic road, sometimes on/off-road, offering a one-of-a-kind view.
- Pan di Zucchero - This natural monument on the island’s southwestern coast is now a symbol of the city of Iglesias.
- Buggerru - A charming mining village perched on the Sardinian coast, nestled within one of the valleys of the Iglesienti mountains.
- Grugua - A corner of southwestern Sardinia associated with the Modigliani family. Along the route, visitors will encounter structures once owned by this family of entrepreneurs and artists.
- Miniera di Montevecchio - Located in the Costa Verde area, between Guspini and Arbus, stands the expansive Montevecchio mining complex, easily accessible via on/off-road routes through the wildest nature. The mine, now open to visitors, preserves the history of a trade that greatly contributed to the area’s development.
- Cala Domestica - After navigating the thrilling curves of the SP83, visitors arrive at the ultimate oasis: the small beach of Cala Domestica, nestled between two limestone promontories. During the mining era, it served as a port for loading and transporting minerals from the nearby Acquaresi mine. The site features a large paid parking area, a walkway for descent, and a kiosk, Oasi Beach, where visitors can enjoy local delicacies and book a rubber dinghy tour.
