Parque Nacional Villarrica - The journey begins at 227 meters above sea level in Pucón, Chile, heading towards Porqueco. Here, the trek starts at 1,280 meters above sea level, eventually reaching 3,747 meters at the summit of Lanín Volcano, which means “covered” in the Mapuche language. This summit is shared with Argentina due to its geographical location. Its impressive height offers breathtaking landscapes and a magnificent summit experience. The Lanín Volcano is revered as a Sacred Site by the Mapuche people, who refer to it as “the heart of the world.” Its vast size and height make it the most dominant volcano in the region.
This adventure spans 2 days. On the first day, the trek begins at the base of Lanín, with a campsite set up near 2,800 meters above sea level. On the second day, the ascent to the highest volcano in southern Chile starts early. At the summit, the panoramic views of the Araucanía valleys and volcanoes are spectacular, all while standing on the ice cap at the peak of Lanín Volcano. The descent follows the same path, leading back to the campsite for dismantling, before returning to the city of Pucón.
