Arrival in Shanghai. O/N Shanghai
Shanghai Pudong International Airport - Upon arrival by flight or train, your local driver and guide will greet you with a welcome sign displaying your name and transfer you to your hotel.
Huangpu River - After checking in and taking a short break, you will be transferred to the Bund area to begin your 3-day Shanghai tour with a cruise on the Huangpu River (the cruise lasts 50 minutes). The riverbanks are lined with many landmark buildings that showcase the city’s past, present, and future. Additionally, the Yangpu and Nanpu Bridges resemble two dragons spanning the river, with the Oriental Pearl TV Tower nestled beneath their arches, creating a scene known as ‘Two Dragons Playing a Ball’. This makes the Huangpu River Cruise an excellent way to explore the city’s history, culture, and captivating landscape.
The Bund (Wai Tan) - Later, enjoy leisure time at the Bund area to admire various buildings in different architectural styles. There are numerous photo opportunities here, and you will have some free time to explore on your own.
Shanghai - At the end of the day, your guide will escort you back to your hotel.
Shanghai. O/N Shanghai.
Shanghai Museum (Shanghai Bowuguan) - In the morning, around 09:00, your guide and driver will meet you in your hotel lobby and take you to visit the Shanghai Museum. The museum features eleven galleries and three exhibition halls with a rich collection of Chinese paintings, calligraphy, ceramics, bronze, and minority costumes. You may spend two hours here.
Yu Garden (Yuyuan) - Next, enjoy a relaxing stroll through the beautiful Yu Garden. Located in the old town, Yuyuan Garden is the city’s most famous ancient site, known for its ingenious layout and delicate architecture. The garden’s treasure, Yu Ling Long (an exquisite jade stone), is an artificial hill considered one of the three most renowned peaks in Southern China.
Yuyuan Old Street - Then, visit the Yuyuan Bazaar, also known as Yuyuan Market, located outside Yu Garden in the heart of Old Shanghai City, near the Old City God Temple. The area features many traditional Chinese buildings now used as commercial stores selling local products, snacks, jewelry, souvenirs, antiques, and more.
Shanghai World Financial Center - Afterwards, visit the Shanghai World Financial Center and ascend to the 100th floor for panoramic city views. It is the world’s 8th tallest building and the 4th tallest structure in Mainland China. The 100th floor features a 55-meter-long viewing gallery, the second-highest observation deck in China, higher than the viewing platforms on the Canadian TV Tower (447 meters) and the Dubai Tower (440 meters).
Xintiandi - Finally, visit Xin Tian Di, a former neighborhood of old Shanghai that has been transformed into a fashionable pedestrian street with fine restaurants, upscale clubs, and boutiques.
Shanghai - At the end of the day, your guide will escort you back to your hotel.
Shanghai - Suzhou. O/N Suzhou.
Shanghai - Your guide will pick you up in your hotel lobby around 09:00 in the morning and escort you to the renowned Suzhou Town, approximately a 120-minute ride away.
Humble Administrator’s Garden - Upon arrival, you will immediately tour the Humble Administrator’s Garden, a classical garden filled with graceful scenes. Located in the northeast of Suzhou, it is the largest and most famous classical garden in the city. With over 500 years of history, it was originally built in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and has become a representation of Chinese private gardens. The garden is divided into eastern, western, and central parts, each focusing on lush greenery, blooming flowers, delicate galleries, long corridors, and distinctive buildings.
Pingjiang Road - After that, enjoy a short 20-minute cruise along the canal to reach the 800-year-old Pingjiang Road, a riverside pedestrian road with old stone bridges and buildings converted into cafes, tea houses, small shops, restaurants, boutique hotels, and residences. It is a great place for a pleasant walk. You may enjoy a meal in one of the restaurants overlooking the canal and finish with a coffee in a coffee shop or bookshop.
Master-of-Nets Garden - The rest of the day will be spent exploring the Garden of the Master of Nets, a representative Suzhou garden that harmoniously combines natural landscapes and the host’s residence.
Suzhou - At the end of the day, your guide will escort you back to your hotel.
Suzhou - Zhouzhuang - Shanghai. O/N Shanghai.
Suzhou - Your guide will pick you up in your hotel lobby around 09:00 in the morning and escort you to the renowned Zhouzhuang, approximately a 60-minute ride, 50km away.
Zhouzhuang Water Town - The entire ancient town is a large scenic area for exploration. Unlike nearby modern cities, everything here is old and charming, including navy-blue and narrow lanes, off-white residences, blocky stone bridges, and the lingering river below the windows. It is recommended to visit the Former Residence of Shen Wansan, the first millionaire in the southern area during the early Ming Dynasty.
Shanghai - After lunch, you will be transferred back to your hotel.
Shanghai Departure. The tour ends
Jade Buddha Temple - This morning, visit the Jade Buddha Temple. As the name suggests, the temple houses three rare jade Buddha statues. The 1.95-meter-high Sitting Buddha is carved from a single piece of quality Burma jade, while the other two Recumbent Buddha statues are from Burma and Singapore. Your private 5-day, 4-night Shanghai ground tour package concludes today, and your guide will see you off at the airport or train station.
