Puerto Maldonado – Paradise Amazon Lodge (Tambopata)
Puerto Maldonado - At 09:30 am, transportation will be arranged to Puerto Capitania. From there, a scenic 30-minute journey will lead to the secluded Paradise Amazon Ecolodge.

Puerto Maldonado – Paradise Amazon Lodge (Tambopata)

Tambopata National Reserve - CANOPY WALK:
Just 200 meters from the resort, guests will walk to the Canopy Tower, which stands 35 meters tall and is anchored at the base of a majestic Lupuna tree, one of the Amazon rainforest’s giants. This impressive structure offers a unique view of the forest canopy, showcasing the vastness of the Amazon.
From this vantage point, a wide variety of bird species may be spotted. A local expert guide will provide detailed insights about the region’s flora and fauna, enhancing the experience high above the jungle floor.
Tambopata National Reserve - ZIP LINING:
After the treetop walk, an exciting 190-meter zipline adventure awaits. Before starting, a local instructor will provide a comprehensive safety briefing and share helpful tips to ensure the best ziplining experience. Guests will also be guided across a 100-meter suspension bridge as part of the activity.
After completing the circuit, the group will return to the starting point and then head back to the lodge for a nourishing lunch. Following the meal, guests are welcome to relax and unwind in hammocks, surrounded by the sounds of the rainforest.
Tambopata National Reserve - KAYAK:
In the early afternoon, a kayaking adventure on the river will commence. The team will provide all necessary safety equipment, and for added security, a support boat will accompany the group throughout the activity.
After the excursion, there will be an opportunity to cool off with a refreshing swim in the gentle currents of the Madre de Dios River, surrounded by the natural beauty of the Amazon.
Tambopata National Reserve - MONKEY ISLAND:
Following the kayaking adventure on the Madre de Dios River, a 15-minute boat journey will lead to Monkey Island. This area is home to several species, including capuchin monkeys, black capuchins (Cebus apella), and white-fronted capuchins (Cebus albifrons), along with other fascinating wildlife. Many of these monkeys are known for their curious and sociable behavior.
Accompanied by a local expert guide, guests will have the opportunity to observe them up close and learn about their behavior and habitat within the Tambopata National Reserve, while always respecting wildlife and conservation guidelines.
The plan is to return to the resort by 4:30 p.m., just in time to enjoy a breathtaking Amazonian sunset.
Tambopata National Reserve - CAIMAN SPOTTING:
As dusk falls, a boat excursion will commence in search of white and dwarf caimans. Guided by an experienced local guide, the group will scan the riverbanks, where the reflection of their eyes in the darkness helps spot these fascinating nocturnal reptiles.
By 7:30 p.m., the group will return to the lodge to enjoy dinner, followed by a peaceful and restful night surrounded by the sounds of the Amazon rainforest.
Lake Sandoval
Tambopata National Reserve - Awakened by the melodic calls of birds, guests will begin their day in the heart of the Amazon rainforest.
At 6:00 a.m., the group will cross the river to the control station, where local authorities will register the details of each visitor.
Lago Sandoval - From there, a three-kilometer guided trek to Lake Sandoval will begin.
Afterward, guests will board a rowboat and glide toward the heart of the lake, where they will search for a rich variety of birds and wildlife.
This region is home to hoatzins, cormorants, anhingas, and the famous “playful” giant river otters, among many other species. After taking in the vibrant life of Lake Sandoval, the group will return to the lodge.
Puerto Maldonado - After breakfast, guests will be taken to Puerto Maldonado, to the airport or bus terminal according to the schedule of their flight or bus.
