• Puerto Morelos - Begin the day early in the jungle near Puerto Morelos, observing the local wildlife. As this is a completely natural experience, sightings are not guaranteed but may include parrots, toucans, eagles, hawks, owls, motmots, trogons, hummingbirds, orioles, flycatchers, agoutis, foxes, and squirrels.
• Akumal Beach - Explore the protected marine area at Akumal, known as the Mayan “place of the turtles,” with a local turtle guide. Always adhere to the guidelines to avoid disturbing these magnificent wild creatures. Weather permitting, take a short 2-3 minute boat ride to snorkel over the coral reef before swimming to the protected area where turtles are feeding. The total time spent in the water is approximately one hour.

Drive time from the first jungle stop is approximately 1 hour.

• Punta Laguna Monkey Reserve - Venture further inland to the jungle, home to two indigenous monkey species: howler and spider monkeys. The Punta Laguna Monkey Reserve, now legally protected, has no fences and has been the habitat of these monkeys for many years. Visitors can hope to see both species, though sightings are not guaranteed, along with additional birdlife. For an extra USD40 per person, enjoy a Mayan cleansing ceremony, swim in a cave cenote, zipline across a lake, and row back.

Drive time to Playa del Carmen is approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes, or to Cancun approximately 2 hours.
