Great Day Fishing! - We were picked up from our cruise ship and spent a half day fishing with Captain Willi and first mate Jose. They both could not have been nicer but especially Jose whose fishing experience and expertise made the day so much more enjoyable. I highly recommend this excursion. You will not be disappointed.

Fishing Puerta Plata - I went to Cabarete for the month of February and thought I would take a friend fishing. Booked two 4 hr trips with Mahi Mahi Fishing. We didn’t connect on any fish the first trip Feb 3 but none of the other boats did neither. No one was into fish.
The second trip I had a mix up on my booking date but Bart accommodated by changing the date for me. Feb 18th I ended up on a solo trip and landed a nice Mahi Mahi and a Wahoo. When we returned to the marina my Mahi Mahi was cleaned so I could take it back to eat.
The fish might not have been cooperating but it wasn’t due to the crew. They worked very hard both trips and were more than friendly.
I will definitely look these guys up again my next trip down.
Big thanks to Bart and his Crew - Willy and Saul!

Perfect 4plus hour excursion - From the start Capt Jeffery and Anderson were great. Anderson picked us up early since we were on a time crunch because of our cruise ship. They were both very welcoming and knowledgeable and had no problems answering questions we had. Ended up catching a mahi-mahi and they filleted it and cooked it right there on the boat. Best Mahi I have ever had. We paid for a 4 hour trip and we were actually closer to 5. We would highly recommended this team.

Great memories catching fish - Great day on the water catching wahoo, mahi mahi and a barracuda. Boat was nice - could have been cleaned better. Captain and first mate knew their waters and were super friendly and welcoming.

Water Lover’s Paradise - Days like this are why my wife and I don’t book excursions through cruise ships. Fishing wasn’t offered and would have been twice as expensive. Saul and Willy took us trolling in beautiful waters offshore, but with shoreline still visible. Wish we had time for a full day to increase our chance at a marlin. But, we still scored two mahi mahi and a barracuda. I don’t care if I even catch fish while traveling through these beautiful waters. Excellent way to help local businesses and receive unparalleled service. The guys were great!

Crew worked hard - We didn't catch any fish but the crew worked very hard. It's not the crew's fault the fish didn't cooperate.

Dolphins ate our fish. - This was a great day on the water. We were greeted by a group of dolphins and witness what was thought to be a shark thrashing in the water. Unfortunately, there were no fish bitting despite the efforts of the captain and first mate. The Dolphins got there first. :). Overall, great trip.

Too much drama Gilligan (Jose) - I asked for a receipt for the 50US cash on arrival you have to pay for the "fishing licence" so I could collect it from the other members of our group, did not happen. The shuttle van was broken down, the sliding door fell off. Yep, drove about 40km with no doors. The captain did not interact with our group. The first mate was a joke, he was so full of himself we all died laughing at him. When we introduced ourselves, he said they don't speak English, then later said the was Canadian and had lived in the Dominican for about 20years. He constantly pretendended he was a famous rock star singing and serenading off the back of the boat like he was on stage. We had a few people that suffered from sea sickness and Jose kept yelling at them cause the previous day he said all eight guests were puking and poohing on the boat and they didn't catch any fish. We had a mahimahi/dolphin/dorada on the line. We reeled it in to the back of the boat. Jose jumped over the back of the boat to the platform, he pulled the fish and line out of the water, the fish swam away because he did not gaff or club it and blamed the person reeling for not keeping the line tight. Later we successfully landed a 40" wahoo. We told him he could keep the fish and share it with the captain as a tip. He still asked for a cash tip.

We were cheated. - We were told that if the sea was too rough or in bad weather, we would postpone the tour or cancel and get a refund. At the departure of the marina we were told that there were a few waves but made offshore it would be quieter. Offshore there were waves 4 to 5 meters high and it was raining, it was really bad.We had to turn back because we were sick. We should never have left. I hope to have compensation because we have not been honest with us and for the moment the confidence is no longer there.
