Setting Sail on the Spirit of the Sea

The sun was just beginning to rise over the horizon as I made my way to the port in Puerto Rico de Gran Canaria. The air was crisp, and the promise of adventure hung in the salty breeze. I was about to embark on the Gran Canaria Boat Tour—a chance to spot dolphins and whales in their natural habitat. As someone who has spent countless hours riding the waves, the ocean is my sanctuary, and the thought of sharing it with these magnificent creatures was exhilarating.

The Spirit of the Sea, our vessel for the day, was a sight to behold. With its large glass bottom, it promised a unique view of the underwater world. A Memorable Voyage

As the tour continued, the sea grew a bit choppier, but the Spirit of the Sea handled it with ease. For those prone to seasickness, the crew was prepared with sick bags and plenty of reassurance. There was even a toilet on board, a small but appreciated convenience.

As we made our way back to port, a photographer who had been snapping away at the start of our journey reappeared, offering printed photos and keyrings as mementos. It was a lighthearted end to a magical day, and I couldn’t resist picking up a few souvenirs to remember the experience.

Reflecting on the trip, I realized that it was more than just a chance to see dolphins and whales.
