Beautiful jungle experience with an adrenaline rush - The experience was great. Instructions for pick up in the morning was easy to understand, instructors and guides were very knowledgeable and entertaining and fun. The location is beautiful and breathtaking with very cool zip line experiences across amazing terrain. There is a considerable amount of hiking which was fun, but if not prepared could be a surprise to some expecting an easy adventure, but totally worth the experience.

- We booked the Canopy River combo tour (ATVs, ziplining, river adventure, and mule ride) and had an amazing time — definitely a highlight of our trip to Puerto Vallarta!
You start with a drive into the Sierra Madre mountains the views alone are worth it. We kicked things off with the ATV ride, which was fun and scenic, especially crossing the suspension bridge and stopping to swim and jump into the river at natural pools.
The zipline course was thrilling but felt very safe, thanks to our awesome guides Diego and Adolfo, who made our small (and nervous) group feel totally at ease. The river adventure was short but fun, and the mule ride back up was scenic — the animals were calm and well trained.
A few notes:
• No meals included, but you can buy snacks, drinks, and food at the on-site restaurant.
• There’s a free tequila tasting at the end — don’t skip it!
• The photographers took great pictures, and the package was affordable, which we really appreciated.
If you’re looking for a well-organized, exciting day of adventure, Canopy River is a great choice. We’d absolutely recommend it — and big thanks again to Diego and Adolfo for making it even better!

A Private-Feeling Adventure: Diablo Zip Line, Adventurous Mule Ride, and Four-Tequila Tasting - Our 11-line experience at Canopy River felt like a private tour thanks to guides Johnny and Rafael, whose enthusiasm and attention to detail made every moment special. Safety briefings were clear, harness checks thorough, and their encouragement boosted the confidence of first-time zip-liners in our group.
The course builds excitement line by line, culminating in Diablo, the fastest run and hands-down highlight. Soaring above the jungle canopy on Diablo delivered the kind of adrenaline rush that keeps adventure travelers smiling long after the trip ends.
Next came a mule ride that was anything but leisurely. The trail climbed steep switchbacks, crossed rocky patches, and wound through dense greenery. At one point my sure-footed mule lunged toward a vine for a leafy snack—an unscripted moment that underscored the rugged, adventurous feel of the ride.
We wrapped up with a guided tequila tasting led by Mario, who walked us through four distinct styles: blanco, reposado, añejo, and extra añejo. His clear explanations of aging, flavor profiles, and production methods turned a fun sampling into a mini master class.
Amenities were well placed, staff throughout the park were welcoming, and every logistical detail ran on time. Closed-toe shoes, sunscreen, and mosquito repellent are musts, and arriving a few minutes early helps the adventure start smoothly.
Johnny, Rafael, and Mario went above and beyond at every turn, turning a standard excursion into an unforgettable highlight of our Puerto Vallarta trip. We will return on our next visit.

Great excursion - The Zipline and RZR tours were amazing. The staff was friendly and helpful. Expect to get a little wet or muddy, and there are some spots you have to hike uphill a bit on the zipline tour. It was really hot weather but still fun.

AMAZING!! We loved our guides Felix and Hector. - This place is a must. Our guides were Felix and Hector and they were AMAZING!!! I was very scared and Felix was so patient with me. We had a great time zipping through 6 zip lines, walking through bridges, rappelling, tubbing in the river and doing the mule ride. Gorgeous place with lots to do. Ah, and the restaurant was delicious too. We got nachos, fajitas and quesadillas. They were all delicious!!! Highly recommend!!!

Mas Tequila Por Favor - This was our favorite part of the trip! We did the zipline tour, and Diego, Adolfo, Fernando, Daniel, Hector, y Polo were smart, safe and fun! Definitely recommend booking, they are the best excursion in PV! The tequila tasting after was an added treat!

So much fun ziplining! - Had a great time for my birthday. Our group of 3 were the only ones on the Zipline tour. Daniel and Fernando were our guides and made us feel very safe. They were hilarious too! Really enjoyed the whole tour, including the Mule ride back! Be aware of some hiking up to the ziplines, so can be a bit strenuous, especially when it's hot. Ziplines are pure exhilaration!

A FULL and fulfilling, multi-activity excursion that can't be beat! - This was my fourth time over a period of about 15 years experiencing this excursion. And, once again, my best. The team that figures out how to assemble the maze of wires, ropes-and-ladders, and route are amazing.
It reminds me of a piece US Army Sergeant Roy Hite penned about the Alcan Highway.
“Winding in and winding out fills my mind with serious doubt whether the lout who built this route was going to hell or coming back out.”
It is brilliantly and masterfully weaved through the natural features of the land, utilizing them to their utmost advantage.
Zips up to more than 1,000 feet in length, with hundreds of feet of nothing but air the tree canopy beneath you are spectacular to view as you ‘whiz along the wires that connect the launch and recovery platforms.
Add to that multiple rappels, a few ‘rope-and-wire bridges’ to challenge your skills and derring-do and you’ve got a spectacular and fun trip.
But wait! There’s more!! The “Roller Coaster” is a 1,600+ foot long lay-back ride is unique to anything I’ve experienced anywhere else. It follows the twists-and-turns of the stream that flows through the valley bottom. You wildly swing and sway from side-to-side as you rocket just above the water. And, not unlike a real roller coaster, you experience uphills and sudden drops that mirror the typical amusement park ride. And it, along with a few of the other features, ends with a true, pure, fully soaking splashdown! “Hold your mouth closed and pinch your nose” or you’re going to get a snootful.
Then throw in a double-up, two-fer zip, and a couple of water-tube-slides and you’re squirting out the lower end.
But wait! There’s even more!! A very tasty Mexican BBQ is waiting for you as you warm up, dry out, and fill up.
My words pale by comparison to the real ride. You just have to try it to appreciate it fully.

Awesome - but everything is at a cost! - A great experience with a very accomplished and professional company.
The Zip-lining was awesome, although some of the in between climbs were a little brutal and unexpected by the girls.
A shame they do not allow you to take your own camera, but I can partly understand why this is the case.
I guess the reason I am hesitant to place 5 stars, in spite of the staff being amazing, it is a very slick and expensive day out. I’m not sure - other than providing employment - how ‘locals’ benefit from River Canopy.
It is clear alit if investment has been made, so ROU is key hey?
Anyway - I would definitely recommend - just be prepared, the cost of your day trip is probably half that you will need to spend.
