• Uros - The tour kicks off early at approximately 6:45 AM. Participants will board a kayak, accompanied by a motorboat, and paddle for about an hour, enjoying the scenic views of Lake Titicaca, its rich flora and fauna, and a small rocky island along the way.

Upon arrival at the floating islands of Uros, the resident families will demonstrate how the islands are constructed and maintained using totora reeds, and share insights into their daily lives. Following this, a fast boat will take the group to Taquile Island in about 1.5 hours.

On Taquile, visitors will embark on a 40-minute climb from the dock to the main plaza. The island, situated higher than Uros, features terraced hillsides and stone pathways. The local community has a long-standing tradition of weaving textiles, and throughout the day, visitors can observe them using natural dyes and traditional patterns. Men knit the chullo hats while women focus on weaving; the colors and designs signify marital status and community affiliation.
Guests will have the opportunity to explore, visit a small museum detailing the island’s textile heritage, and enjoy viewpoints that offer stunning vistas of the island descending into the lake.

The tour concludes with a return to Puno, arriving at around 4 PM.

You’ll observe men knitting the unique chullo hats and women weaving intricate belts, skills handed down through generations that narrate stories through patterns and colors. This combination is ideal: kayaking to Uros provides an active start to the day, while Taquile offers cultural richness and the opportunity to explore the island’s stone paths.
