Perfect tour to ground yourself and enjoy the peace of Lake Titicaca. - We booked this tour to avoid the overflowing islands of Taquile and Amantani. The Llachon Peninsula seems very suitable for this. We really enjoyed the peace and seclusion there. Lake Titicaca with its deep blue waters is a energizing place and on Llachon you have the peace and quiet to absorb this power. On the way there you will stop at one of the floating islands of the Uros. There you can learn a lot of interesting things about the way the Uros live, how the islands are built, how societies work, about food on the islands and so on. Of course, you can also marvel at some crafts and buy them, but you are not harassed. Our guide Pepe comes from one of these islands himself and was able to tell us a lot. It was noted that he cared deeply about the culture of the people around the lake. On Llachon, he explained to us the importance of different textiles, their production, their historical context and their production, using some of the pieces. The warmth of heart and dedication to this topic was impressive for us, he managed to take us with him great. Thank you Pepe! We were also delighted with lunch at a small restaurant on Llachon. There was trout, of course, obvious. But she was really very good and just fit in perfectly with this day at the lake. Organizationally, everything was great. Pepe was super punctual in the morning to pick us up, the boat was clean, there were enough life jackets for the size of the boat (there were only two of us anyway) and we felt very comfortable on board. You're on the boat for about four hours. Don't forget a warm jacket, then nothing stands in the way of a relaxing trip.
