Puno - Uros - Amantani

Uros Floating Islands - Begin this incredible tour with a transfer to the boat pier, where a 25-minute boat ride awaits to explore life on the floating islands of Uros. As the journey begins, enjoy a clear view of the distant snow-capped Andean peaks.

Upon arrival at the Uros islands, the locals will warmly welcome you and introduce you to their life on these man-made islands. The people here speak Aymara, and the tour guide will teach you a few words to greet them in their language.

The community leader will demonstrate how these islands are constructed and share their history.

The locals will then offer a short ride on their totora reed boat to the main island of Uros (this incurs an additional cost).

You will have some free time to explore; the island is also made of totora reed. Once you have absorbed the history and views, the journey to Amantani Island will commence.

Amantani Island - Upon docking at Amantani Island, the locals will warmly welcome you. They will accompany you to their home, where you will spend the night in a private room. A freshly cooked authentic Peruvian meal will be served for lunch. After lunch, you will have some free time to take a nap or wander through the cobblestone streets of this beautiful island. In the evening, the guide will meet you for an uphill walk to the two ancient Incan temples, Pachatata and Pachamama. These temples offer a breathtaking panoramic view of Lake Titicaca, and you can witness the sunset from here. After returning from this short tour, your host family will have dinner prepared. After dinner, you may join the local folkloric musical event. Your host will help you dress in traditional attire and accompany you to the community hall where the event will be held. Young boys from the island play live Andean Folkloric Music while visitors dance to the rhythm.

Amantani Island - Taquile Island - Puno

Taquile Island - As the boat approaches the shores of Taquile Island, the local expert will provide brief information about the locals’ lives here. It is approximately a 45-minute walk up the hill to the summit, where you can enjoy the views.

Taquile is renowned for its exceptional Andean handicrafts. Men do the knitting while women spin the wool. People here dress according to their marital status, and the guide will explain this in detail.

A village chief will demonstrate how they dye the wool using vegetables.

After a brief introduction, lunch will be served at a local restaurant.

Puno - After lunch, the group will hike back down to the pier and embark on the boat for a return trip to Puno. The 36-kilometer (22-mile) distance will be covered in approximately two and a half hours. Arrival in Puno is expected by 04:30 PM.

A representative will meet you and transfer you back to your hotel in the city center.
