Lake Titicaca - Nestled between Peru and Bolivia, Lake Titicaca is the world’s highest navigable lake, offering a unique sailing experience.
Puno - Islas de los Uros - 982
Guests will be collected from their hotel in Puno’s historic center between 6:45 and 7:00 AM. Before boarding the motorboat to the Uros Islands, there will be a brief stop at the dock for purchasing snacks and bottled water. Once aboard, the guide and boat captain will introduce themselves and provide an overview of the Lake Titicaca itinerary. The first destination is the floating islands of Uros. During the journey, totora reeds can be seen growing in the lake. Upon docking, the island chief will demonstrate the construction of the islands using totora reeds and share a few words in Aymara. The locals are renowned for their handicrafts, which guests can purchase. There is also an option to take a totora reed boat (15 Soles) to the main island of Uros and have passports stamped as a souvenir. From here, the boat trip to Taquile Island will commence. Guests can walk to the upper deck of the boat to capture photos of the floating islands.
Isla Amantani - 871
Upon arrival on Amantaní Island, local families will warmly welcome guests into their homes. A delicious lunch, prepared with fresh, traditional regional ingredients, will be served. Later, guests can explore the island with a hike to the sacred temples of Pachatata and Pachamama, located at the highest points, offering panoramic views of Lake Titicaca and an unforgettable sunset. Upon returning, a home-cooked dinner will be enjoyed in a cozy atmosphere, followed by a lively peña, or fiesta, featuring traditional music and dances, making this a truly unique experience. Guests will spend the night in a simple family home with basic but comfortable amenities, allowing for an authentic connection with the Quechua community and their way of life.
Amantani Island and Taquile Island
Isla Amantani - In the morning, guests will enjoy breakfast prepared by their local hosts, concluding their experience with the warmth and hospitality that defines the Amantaní community. After bidding farewell to the families, the return journey will begin, leaving guests with unforgettable memories of this unique experience, where nature, Quechua culture, and authentic connections with the island’s inhabitants will be cherished forever.
Taquile Island - Situated on Lake Titicaca, Taquile Island is home to a thriving industry of woven handicrafts, primarily crafted by the men of the community. Taquile hosts a Quechua population of 2,000 people, who are mainly farmers, fishermen, and renowned weavers. Contrary to the traditional view of weaving as a women’s domain, on Taquile, it is the men who perform much of the intricate work with the thread. Guests will also be invited to watch and participate in traditional dances with the local villagers. Following this, the group will continue their walk to a local restaurant for lunch. After lunch, around 2:30 PM, guests will board the boat back to Puno. At approximately 4:30 PM, the boat will dock at the Puno pier, where guests will be met and transferred back to their hotel in the city’s historic center.
