Zero Stars is More Accurate - This transportation was disorganized, unprofessional, and chaotic. First, no one reached out to me to obtain flight details. It was at my prompting, near the pickup date that they realized they did not have the information to pick me up on time. Upon arrival at the airport, no one was waiting for us with a sign from Triptown with our names on it. Instead, once I landed multiple unverified phone numbers began messaging me on What’s App asking for a photo of me and my partner. Ultimately someone I later learned was the driver called and asked us to cross three lanes of traffic outside the airport and wait for our driver at an ice cream shop. When the driver arrived, the expectation was that we hop into an unmarked car while someone else was calling me still requesting a photo. The driver made hand and finger signs at us that he expected us to understand to mean that he was our driver and we must hop into his car in the middle of traffic. While the driver got us to where we needed to go, he had no prior information on where we were supposed to go and we had to tell him which hotel and how to get there. The return trip was no different. A similar chaos ensued on the way back. First, the driver arrived at the hotel for pickup on the wrong day where we had to inform him that we were departing two days later. When he returned on the correct day, he went to the wrong hotel and was not let in the hotel so he blamed us for providing the wrong room number. We were confused about this so we went to the front gate of the hotel with our bags and didn’t see him. When my partner called him to try to figure out where he was he told her to calm down. She was finally the one who figured out he was at the wrong hotel and had to direct him to the right one. Finally, when I reached out to request a refund after the fact, I was met with hostility by someone who just kept repeating “the transfer was completed.” As though throwing an unboxed pizza at someone’s front door is the same as successfully delivering a pizza. I have taken public transportation from Santo Domingo to Punta Cana that has gone smoother than this. We did not get what we paid for, despite the company believing that because they drove us to and from, we should be content.
