Beautiful site - The site is beautiful. The river is in the middle of a very dense forest. Of course, there are monkeys, but also abundant flora and fauna. Raccoons, iguanas, birds... come in the morning, when the monkeys are hungry, if you want them to come near you.

Wonderful day trip from Jaco - Had a great day on this tour Juan was very knowledgeable about about all aspects of the trip We saw many different birds fed monkeys bananas also Iguanas and many trees in the transitional forest crocodiles very close up and ended with a delicious lunch and a swim at a beautiful beach

Monkey mangrove - Missed the up close monkeys but guide was excellent and we had a great time. Good drive down with David. Aw iguana lizards and sloth and some monkeys in the trees

Failure to appear; failure to respond - Costa Rica Mangrove Monkey Tour Our group of three reserved an excursion out of the Jacó beachfront region in the Garabito canton, in the Puntarenas province of Costa Rica in the second week of July 2025. Viator was the platform we used; Jacó Walk Plaza 61, Jaco, CR, 61011 was the tour operator, according to Viator. On the evening before our scheduled excursion, I texted the tour operator using Viator's email/text platform, asking to confirm the trip - for which I had been billed $580 through Viator, under Confirmation number: 1626634287; Booking reference number: 1242368289. I received no response to my text. On the morning of the date that we were supposed to take the excursion, our group drove to the designated hotel pickup point, and were waiting there at 8:15 a.m. for a scheduled pick up of 8:30 a.m. for an excursion departure set for 10 a.m. When no one from the tour provider showed up, I texted Viator (at 8:50 a.m.) asking where our tour operator was. I got no response from Viator. At 9 a.m. I called Viator, and spoke with their representative, who confirmed that Viator's records reflected that the tour operator promised to pick our party up at the hotel where we were waiting. She asked for some time to investigate the matter further, and after about 10 minutes she returned to the line and said she had not been able to contact the tour provider and could not say what our options were. In response to the question presented by the Viator representative (“what do you want to do?”), I said that if the tour operator could pick us up asap, we'd go on the tour. By noon I heard nothing back from Viator or the tour operator. We had been totally ghosted by Viator and by the tour operator. This meant a total waste of a vacation day (one out of only three available to my group).

What a waste of a perfect travel day - Based on our experience, I would expect the tour operators will fail to respond to your questions made through the Viator app and will fail to show up for your tour; and I would expect that it will not be possible for Viator to contact your tour operators, and will likely not be able to help you in any way.
