Kaili - In the morning, the driver will meet the operator at 9:00 am at the Kaili hotel to transfer to the outskirts of the city for a visit to the Miao villages.

Miao Village - Today, the itinerary includes visits to the Lanhua, Jidao, and Langde Miao villages, or alternatively, the Gejia and Shiqiao villages. These villages are located near Kaili, approximately an hour’s drive from the city center. Langde Village is 30 km from Kaili, nestled among lush mountains and beside a clear stream. Upon arrival, guests partake in the “block-the-way” wine, a local custom for welcoming visitors. Twelve tables are set along the path from the main road to the village gate. Visitors can explore traditional Miao-style stilt houses and enjoy delightful Miao folk songs. Afterward, there is time for a leisurely walk along the cobblestone or bluestone-paved roads and courtyards of the village.

Kaili - Zhenyuan. Overnight in Zhenyuan.

Kaili - The guide will meet the operator in the hotel lobby around 09:00 am. The journey to the renowned Zhenyuan ancient town takes approximately 2 hours, covering 125 km.

Zhenyuan - Congjiang - Zhaoxing. Overnight in Zhaoxing.

Xiaohuang Village - After exiting the highway, the route leads to Yintan Dong village in Congjiang, a village similar to Xiaohuang.

Yintan Dong village, located about 20 kilometers from Congjiang, is a quintessential Dong village in Guizhou, known for its Dong architecture and the daily life of this minority. Although the houses are relatively new (50-100 years old), they adhere to traditional Dong building principles. The village’s natural environment, houses, drum towers, and pavilions are distinctly different from those in the West. The village’s drum tower stands 21 feet tall at its center, making it a prominent landmark. Visitors feel transported back in time amidst the well-preserved buildings.

Zhaoxing DongZhai - Finally, the driver will escort the operator to the hotel.

Zhaoxing - Chengyang (Guangxi province). Overnight in Chengyang village.

Zhaoxing DongZhai - Today, the Zhaoxing Dong village, one of the largest Dong Villages in the Qiandongnan area of Guizhou, is on the itinerary. Entering Zhaoxing Dong Village feels like stepping back in time. The village is renowned for its picturesque scenery and unique ethnic charm, surrounded by lush mountains with a clear stream flowing through.

Chengyang Wind and Rain Bridge - At the end of the day, the driver will escort the operator to the hotel in Chengyang village, a 2-hour drive away.

Sanjiang Chengyang Dong village - Longji Terraces. Overnight in Ping’an village.

Chengyang Wind and Rain Bridge - Chengyang Dong Village is known for its well-preserved residential houses and enchanting natural landscape. Visitors will see the iconic Dong village structures, the Wind and Rain Bridge, and the Drum Tower. The Wind and Rain Bridge, made of wood and bricks, combines the styles of a bridge, corridor, and kiosk, showcasing the unique Dong style and the ingenuity of the Dong people. Originally built to provide shelter for field workers, it later became a popular meeting place for young people and a renowned attraction for visitors worldwide. The Drum Tower, always located at the village center, serves as the political and cultural hub. When the village chief beats the drum on the top floor, villagers gather around the Drum Tower.

Dragon’s Backbone Rice Terraces - After a two-hour drive, the operator will reach the entrance to the Longji Terraces and visit Ping’an Village, home to the most famous and beautiful rice terraces in Longji, requiring an additional 30-minute drive from the entrance ticket office. The Dragon’s Backbone Rice Terraces is a magnificent agricultural marvel with over 650 years of history. The most striking part of the terrace cluster is the Ping’an Village Rice Terrace, the first to be discovered by tourists and photographers. Numerous narrow rice fields carved along the hill slopes form terraces connected by winding flagstone trails. Viewing platforms offer visitors panoramic views of the tiered terrace fields. Visitors can also experience the traditional lifestyle of the Zhuang minority, helping in the fields, trying on their colorful ethnic costumes, and visiting their unique stilted houses.

Ping’an Village - Upon arrival, the operator will take a moderate trek along steps to Ping’an Zhuang Village. The walk takes about 40 minutes, allowing for a stroll around the village to glimpse the local Zhuang people’s unique wooden stilted houses and enjoy lunch in the village.

After a brief lunch break, the terrace exploration continues to the No.2 Viewing Platform (Seven Star with the Moon), a 15-minute walk, offering a fantastic spot for a bird’s-eye view of the Longji Terraces below. There is ample time to take photos and enjoy the fresh air at the platform. Then, the journey continues to the No.1 Viewing Platform (Nine Dragons and Five Tigers), a 30-minute walk along a flat path.

After visiting the Ping’an village area, the operator will check into a hotel in Ping’an village or Dazhai village.

Longji Rice Terraces - Guilin. Overnight in Guilin.

Longji Mountain - In the morning, the operator can hike from Ping’an to Dazhai or take a car to Dazhai and hike around the Dazhai village.

Reed Flute Cave (Ludi Yan) - Before checking into the hotel in Guilin, the operator will visit the Reed Flute Cave. The Reed Flute Cave is a cave-based scenic spot located in the northwest suburb of Guilin, Guangxi, China, 7 km from the Guilin city center. It is about 240 meters (787 ft) deep and 500 meters (1640 ft) long. The cave features a vast array of exquisite stalagmites, stalactites, stone pillars, and stone curtains, formed over 180 million years ago. It is also known as “the Palace of Natural Art.”

Guilin - At the end of the day, the driver will escort the operator to the hotel.

Guilin - Yangshuo. Overnight in Yangshuo.

Elephant Trunk Hill (Xiangbishan) - In the morning, the operator will visit Elephant Hill, a prominent attraction and landmark in the center of Guilin City. The beautiful natural scenery combined with the valuable cultural landscape makes it a captivating place that enchants and attracts tourists.

Yulong River - After visiting Elephant Hill, the operator will drive to Yangshuo for a bamboo boat ride. Taking a bamboo raft ride on the Yulong River (or Dragon River), a tributary of the Li River, offers a relaxing way to enjoy the highly scenic area south of Yangshuo. The operator can enjoy the stunning scenery and views of rural life on a non-motorized raft, steered by a gondolier over breakwaters past small mud-brick villages and farmlands. Once on the bamboo raft, sitting and enjoying the peaceful countryside and limestone mountains, the beauty of the experience unfolds. Even if the operator has cycled the area with a few hidden stretches approaching the river, the view from the river is distinct. The boat ride lasts for 50 minutes, one way.

Xianggong Mountain - After the Yulong bamboo boat ride, the operator will drive to see Yangshuo Xianggong Hill. A 15-minute climb along a moderately sloped staircase leads to the top of Xianggong Hill. Please inform the guide in advance if a walking stick is needed. Situated between the famous Yellow Cloth Shoal and Mural Hill, Xianggong Hill is one of the best viewing platforms in Guilin to admire the beauty of the Li River. The breathtaking view of the meandering Li River making a 180-degree bend attracts countless visitors and photographers each year.

Yangshuo County - At the end of the day, the driver will escort the operator to the hotel. There is an option for a night show in Yangshuo, ‘Impression Sanjie Liu,’ performed above and on the Li River against verdant hills. The dreamlike stage effects and original singing and dancing of national minorities have earned the performance a stellar reputation among visitors. The show begins at 20:00 and lasts for 70 minutes; ticket prices range from CNY 268 to CNY 368, depending on the seats. If interested, the guide will reserve tickets and escort the operator to the site after dinner.

Yangshuo. Tour ends.

Yangshuo County - In the morning, the driver will meet the operator at 9 am to explore the Yangshuo countryside.

Yulong River - The operator will then cycle or use an E-bike along the Yulong River to immerse in the local idyllic landscape for 2-3 hours. Along the way, vast farmlands dotted with colorful wildflowers and log cabins stretch from the foot of rolling hills. Occasionally, peasants driving one or two oxen plow the fields, adding vitality to the rustic scenery.

Fuli Ancient Town - After a lunch break, the operator will drive for an hour to the Xingping Dock for a motorized raft journey on the Li River. En route, Fuli Town, known for its traditional handicraft of painted fans, can be visited briefly if interested.

Li River - Upon arrival at Xingping Dock, the operator will board the motorized raft. A ride on the Li River is a must-do on the Guilin Yangshuo day tour. Compared to ordinary ships, the raft, a traditional means of transportation seating four people, offers a broader view and is the best way to enjoy the picturesque natural scenery. During the one-hour raft ride, famous spots like the Yellow Cloth Shoal, depicted on the CNY20 banknote, and Murals Hill, where verdant plants form images of nine horses on a sharp cliff, can be seen.

Important Tips: Due to safety concerns, people over age 70 and children less than 1 meter tall are not allowed to take the Li River boat raft.

Yangshuo County - After the boat tour, the operator can stroll around Xingping old street before being dropped off at the Yangshuo hotel, Guilin hotel, airport, or train station. This marks the end of the tour services.
