The Governor’s Residence showcases the essence of Western-style architecture. Construction began in 1905 and was completed in 1908. It served as the official residence of the German governor-general in the Jiao’ao war zone. Resembling a classic German castle, its intricate design, splendid decorations, elegant lines, and vibrant colors make it one of the finest examples of monomeric villas in China.

15:30-16:30 Badagaun - Eight Great Passes Scenic Area

The Eight Great Passes Area once featured eight avenues named after famous passes in China. On October 12, 1898, German Kaiser Wilhelm II officially named the Jiao’ao Concession downtown area as Qingdao and applied the most advanced European city planning concepts of the late 19th century. The Badaguan villa area emerged from this planning, offering a ‘museum of world architecture’ with nearly a hundred villas in various styles.
