Visit the Gobustan Museum to gain deeper insights into the area’s history, then travel by car to Rock Mountain to view the actual carvings. Discovered between 1939 and 1940, over 3,500 human and animal paintings and various petroglyphs have been recorded, along with 20 suburban shelters. Mesolithic monuments are prominently displayed in the reserve, featuring many caves and springs carved by primitive men on cave walls, rocks, and stone lumps.

Guests may bring strong plastic bags to collect some mud, reputed to be beneficial for the skin. After spending 10 minutes around the volcanoes, you will be transferred back to your car.

Full Day Baku Tour
Highland Park - Highland Park, also known as “Viewing Square,” and formerly “Sergei Kirov Park” during the Soviet era, is a favorite spot in Baku for walking, resting, and enjoying sea views. Relax by breathing fresh air, viewing the city, and sipping tea at the Highland Park Café while listening to classic lounge music. It’s the perfect place to unwind, located in the heart of Baku. Visiting at night is recommended due to the stunning lighting on the stairs to Highland Park. On hot summer days and nights, the park offers a cool, breezy atmosphere.
Baku Boulevard - Baku Boulevard, also known as the National Seaside Park, is a beloved promenade for city residents and visitors, and the second largest in Europe after the park along the River Seine in Paris. Established over 100 years ago, when Baku’s oil barons built mansions along the Caspian shore, the seafront gradually developed. Today, the National Seaside Park covers 3,750 meters along the southern coast of the Caspian Sea, stretching from National Flag Square to Freedom Square. The Boulevard features museums, cultural facilities, malls, and entertainment centers, including the modern panoramic amusement ride, the Devil’s Wheel, offering a beautiful view over Baku Bay.
Icherisheher Historical-Architectural Reserve - The tour starts at the main entrance of Icheri Sheher (Old City), called Double Gates. During the tour, see the Chain, Sailor, and Cat Houses, Bukhara and Multani Caravanserais, Juma Mosque, and Maiden Tower. The guide will explain the history of Icheri Sheher and its buildings. Shirvanshah Palace, the pearl of Azerbaijan’s architectural heritage, was the former residence of the Shirvan rulers, located in Baku’s heart. The complex includes the Divan-Khan courtyard, tomb, mosque from 1441, bathhouse, and mausoleum of court scholar Seyid Yahya Bakuvi. The Bukhara caravanserai, constructed in the late 15th century over Icherisheher’s trade highway, has a quadratic shape and salient portal, with an octagonal yard surrounded by balconies and chapels. The octagonal yard served as an open-air hall for travelers and merchants. Restoration in 1964 revealed the caravanserai’s large-scale structure. Maiden Tower, Baku’s Eiffel Tower, was a 12th-century fortress for the Shirvanshahs. Its architectural plan features extraordinarily thick walls, narrowing from five meters at the base to four meters at the top. The interior now houses old photographs and a souvenir shop, with a superb rooftop viewpoint offering a sweeping panorama of Baku Bay and the Old City.
Little Venice - “Little Venice” in Baku Boulevard is a small town built in 1960, now expanded to 10,000 sq.m. It features two large and several small islands. The redevelopment included expanding channels, constructing additional bridges, and adding two restaurants offering Western and Eastern cuisine. Boats accommodate four people, with one seat for the guide and the rest for passengers. Located near the Caspian seashore, visitors feel like they’re in Venice. The island restaurants offer various meals, including Azerbaijani dishes. Explore by gondola, then enjoy a meal on the islands. Mini Venice has several islands connected by ornate bridges, with 4-seater gondolas available for hire. The complex includes one Eastern and one Western restaurant.
Nizami Street / Tarqovi - The next stop on the Baku city tour is Nizami Street. Spend 15-20 minutes walking to admire the central street’s beauty, filled with shops and restaurants. Also, visit Fountain Square, known for its magical fountains.
Fountain Square - Fountains Square is a popular spot for strollers, forming Central Baku’s natural focus. The fountains include one topped by shiny silvered spheres reflecting the trees and stone facades. The square also features the beautiful statue-inlaid facade of the Nizami Literature Museum.
Baku - Shahdag Tour
Shahdag Mountain Resort - Shahdag is breathtakingly beautiful, a timeless haven. Shahdag is a mountain peak in the Greater Caucasus range, with an elevation of 4,243 meters, located in Azerbaijan’s Gusar region. “The Shahdag Mountain Resort Complex” opened to the public in 2012. Situated in the Greater Caucasus range, near Shahdag National Park, known for its intact ecological system and untouched flora and fauna, it is Azerbaijan’s first and largest ski resort. The Shahdag Mountain tourism complex, Azerbaijan’s first ski resort, is in the northeast in Shahdag National Park, named after Mount Shahdag in the Gusar region. Shahdag offers pistes for beginners and professionals, with 14 ski slopes of varying complexity stretching 17 kilometers. The complex includes four high-class hotels built to European standards. Visitors come even in summer for activities like horse riding, quad biking, cable car riding, and paintballing, or to escape the city’s hustle and enjoy the countryside. This site is perfect for enjoying mountain heights and nature.
Absheron Peninsula Tour
Ateshgah - Fire Temple - At the Private Fire Temple, discover why Azerbaijan is called the land of fire by visiting the 17th-century fire temple and a hill that has been burning for 4 millennia. A driver and guide will pick you up from the hotel at the specified time and drive directly to the Fire Temple. Located in the southeastern part of the Surakhani settlement on the Absheron peninsula, 30 km from Baku, Ateshgah is a fire temple built in the 17th-18th centuries at the site of eternal natural gas flames. The earliest temple building dates to 1713, and the central temple was built in 1810 with funds from merchant Kanchanagara. It was sanctified by Zoroastrians, Hindus, and Sikhs at different times. On the way to the temple, visit the Bibiheybet Mosque, known for its magnificent green interior and the first industrial oil well on Earth, opened in 1846.
Yanardag State Historical, Cultural and Natural Reserve - After the Fire Temple, the last destination is the Fire Mountain. This natural burning flame results from natural gas emerging at the hill’s foot. The hill has been burning for approximately 4 millennia, even during rain and snow, with gas roots extending to the Caspian Sea. Yanardag Mountain, also known as Burning Hill, has had natural gas ablaze for hundreds of years. Enjoy the view of Yanardag, the infamous burning mountain. In ancient times, natural eternal flames burned in many places on Absheron. Yanardag was declared a State Historical-Cultural and Natural Reserve to protect this natural monument.
