Great tour of natural wonders on Vancouver Island, getting beyond Victoria. - Thank you Alan for a lovely trip. We really enjoyed our day out from Victoria. You were very knowledgeable and enhanced our experience a great deal. We loved learning about the Cathedral Grove trees.
It was fantastic the way you flexed our day to also include the Kinsol Trestle; we really appreciated it and it was a highlight of Vancouver Island for us. We also greatly enjoyed the falls x 2 and the visit to Coombs. Great fun.
Thank you also for the great company and relaxed approach to the day. You had such patience and goodwill explaining things to us.

Great way to see Vancouver Island - We truly enjoyed our day visiting the beautiful forests of Vancouver Island. Alan is a wonderful guide, and made sure we were always comfortable. His easy manner and deep knowledge made for a wonderful day. The hikes through the woods were relatively easy, even for 68 year-olds like ourselves. The waterfalls and magnificent trees were breathtaking. I highly recommend this trip for those wanting to get out of Victoria to see more of what Vancouver Island has to offer.

Great way to explore a little of Vancouver Island outside Victoria - Our family of four from Australia was staying in Victoria for a few days and we were keen to see as much as we could of the local area. As we didn't have a car during our trip we booked two private tours as well as airport transfers with Surfside Adventure Tours.
As a way to see as much as possible in a limited time it was great. Without this tour we would have found it very difficult to get far out of Victoria itself.
Alan was punctual, lovely to chat with, and very accommodating, tailoring the tours to our interests. He also ensured that our group always had fresh water, raincoats and umbrellas as required.
On this particular tour we particularly enjoyed the stop at Coombs. The market was far more fascinating than I'd imagined. I'd love to return when the goats are on the roof next time!

A great day all round - It was a great day and a memorable experience all round
Alan was great, we had a really fun time seeing some of the sights and learning a bit about the history of vancouver island.
Alan was really knowledgeable, friendly and easy to talk to.
the vehicle was really comfortable.The waterfalls were incredible and the rainforest walks were stunning. We got really lucky when Alan stopped to show us where the salmon travel up the river seeing some bald eagles sitting very close to the edge of the creek.
It was a great day and a memorable experience all round

The wild side of Vancouver Island - We took a full day tour to see the wild side of Vancouver island. We were met at our hotel and were driven in a large comfortable Toyota Highlander.
The guide named Alan was very knowledgeable about the island and regaled us with interesting stories about the natural wonders of Vancouver island.
Alan was thoughtful and responsive to our needs (toilets, mobility challenges, vegetarian food). He showed an interest in us and it was delightful to get to know him as well. He was a safe and careful driver (even through pouring rain). He provided water for our trip.
We stopped at several provincial parks and did short hikes to see:
* Waterfalls (multiple)
* Massive old growth trees
* Amazing views across Salish sea towards Washington state and across the strait of Georgia towards Vancouver
We also stopped at a charming town full of murals about BC history. We followed a walking trail through the downtown and saw at least 20 murals in about 30 minutes.
Lunch was in a large very busy market/ restaurant. It is famous for goats on the roof. We saw them.
Overall this was a great experience. It was a particularly interesting complement to the other main attractions of Victoria which are formal gardens and British architecture.

A nice break from driving: get restored. - Step off the highway and into the forest to enjoy the smell and feel of waterfalls nearby. It’s a perfect hike, not too much or too little to feel like you got some fresh air and forest scenery.

BREATHTAKING DRIVE AND WALK AMONG GIANTS AT CATHEDRAL GROVE!!!! - The parking was plentiful and there are lots of restrooms. There are trails on both sides of the road and one of them has a boardwalk that is ADA accessible. It is chilly when the winds pickup so bring a jacket! It was also pretty muddy so hiking shoes are recommended. A local from the area told me that they taped some of the most recent Jurassic Park movie in this area.

Great tour guide for this beautiful island - I had the best day with Darwin. He was friendly, kind and very, very knowledgable about the area. The tour included parts of this beautiful island I’d otherwise have been unable to see and Darwin was flexible and accommodating to make sure I had the best day! Many thanks

Darwin is great! - Darwin was a great guide. He was very accommodating with our wishes. He let us tailor our tour within the time allotted. I would highly recommend the service. You can tell he is very passionate about the places he takes you to. So beautiful!

Best Day of our Trip! - We decided to do the full day trip with Darwin and it was the best decision of our whole trip! Darwin really knows so much about the area and he went out of his way to make it a special day. We enjoyed amazing forests, beautiful harbours, seals, amazing waterfalls, yummy cinnamon buns and lots of photos to remember it all by. Everyone said that it was the best day of our trip! Many of my photos will not load, but it is well worth the money and I have already referred many people to invest in this day trip - we all loved it!
