• Quba - The first destination in Guba is the historic Handmade Carpet Factory known as “Qadim Quba,” where visitors can observe the intricate process of carpet weaving by the local women. • Səkinə Xanım - The Sakina-Khanum Mosque, constructed in 1854 by the widow of Abbasgulu Bakikhanov, is made of red bricks and resembles a faceted cylinder. Each facet features a window with a semicircular arch. The facade is topped with an original eaves crafted from small bricks, and the building is crowned with a large white metal dome shaped like a multi-faceted helmet, adorned with a delicate thin spike.
• Juma Mosque - Built in the 19th century, the Juma Mosque is a fine example of the typical Quba province style. Inside, a spacious hall is topped with an impressive dome measuring 16 meters in diameter.
• Quba - Red Town is situated across the Qudiyalçay River (or Kudyal River) from the larger town of Quba. It is the main settlement for Azerbaijan’s highland, or mountain Jews, with a population of around 4,000. The predominant language spoken here is Juhuri. Red Town is considered the last surviving shtetl in the world. It is sometimes called the Red Town or Red Village, possibly due to the red tiles on many roofs or its protected status during the Soviet era, which shielded it from World War II persecution.
• Khinalug - The journey continues to Khinalug, one of the world’s oldest inhabited areas, dating back over 5,000 years, and one of Europe’s highest settlements at over 2,350 meters above sea level. This charming village has a population of fewer than 2,000 people. Visitors are welcomed into a local home to enjoy tea and local pastries. The residents of Khinalug have maintained their traditional lifestyle.
• MestDergah - After visiting Khinalug Village, the next stop is Mastargah Waterfall. Although not large, it offers a picturesque setting for photos. There is a restaurant nearby where visitors can enjoy a meal or take a tea break.
