Fabulous culinary adventure with Sierra - Most informative and friendly tour. If Sierra didn’t know the answer very quickly found out. Comprehensive food and local cultural knowledge.

Good food, great guide - Sierra is awesome! They were so knowledgeable not just about the food we were eating but also the neighborhood we were in, it’s history and it’s present. There were also some foods I usually don’t like but enjoyed on this tour, so it made me a slightly more adventurous eater.

Queen's culinary experience - We thoughly enjoyed the experience we had in Queens. We loved trying so many local bites. I feel confident I could come back to the neighborhood on my own now to try more food. We loved our tour guide Sierra. The knowledge Sierra has for the area made this tour the most memorable experience on our trip to New York City!

One of the most important experiences of my life. Delicious and profoundly moving! - This was our third Basckstreets experience. We did Marseille, and Mexico City. We loved both of those however this one with Esneider was delicious and more than that I think it was so eye-opening, I hope it's effects will last for the rest of my life. I live in Hawaii now for 36 years but I lived the first 38 years in NYC. In fact I grew up in Queens about five miles away from Corona/Jackson Heights. Of course that neighborhood has changed dramatically, but to have Esneider, who is native to Colombia take us around was to see it all in a profoundly new way. He forever lifted my eyes open to prejudice and srereotypes that I have had; in al my years living in NYC I never really saw that neighborhood. I dismissed it unconsciously as not worth seeing. Now, in this current political climate of fear which is being promoted by the American president and his ilk in Hungary, Argentina, Israel, China, Russia, etc it showed me the humanity that tyrants are wantonly trying to sacrifice. Esneider pointed out that while we may think these streets we were walking were vibrant, the local population in this immigrant neighborhood is so frightened of being "disappeared," by US Immigration authorities they are staying off the streets. In Hawaii mostly I live in a very liberal enclave. Most people here never get to experience or even hear about people who are afraid they will get deported. I'm writing too much, I know. I'll end by saying yes the food was wonderful too! But thank you so much - keep up the good work - your company is what the world needs!!

Our guild’s knowledge and expertise both about food and the neighborhood really brought the tour together. I would highly recommend this tour.
