Embark on a journey to the uncharted Qeswachaka Inca Bridge, a less frequented destination located in the southern valley of Cusco, perched above the Apurimac River at a height of 15 meters. Forming part of the historical Qhapaq Ñan or Inca Trail, this extraordinary bridge boasts undisturbed authenticity as it is made of Puna straw or ichu. Each June, around 1,000 locals from surrounding communities take on the responsibility of its annual reconstruction.
The bridge’s name is derived from two Quechua words - “Qeswa” meaning braid, and “Chaka” signifying bridge. Join us in uncovering the wonders of this remarkable site through the road less traveled, and immerse yourself in a truly unique experience.
