Venture into the park with Vivi!!!! - Don't miss the tour with Viviana (Vivi), she will accompany you for 2 hours sharing her excellent knowledge of the park, friendliness, energy and sunshine. She is loved by all the other local guides He showed us many animals and revealed countless curiosities about the fauna and this wonderful park Thank you for this day of nature!

Wonderful way to experience nature and the rain forest! Don't miss the beach!! - Hire a guide, if you're going to bother to go, do it right. You will see things you wouldn't see without one. Stay for the beaches, they're absolutely beautiful!! The park is an easy walk, any shoes are fine, but it's a dirt path, so maybe closed toed if you care. Make sure you go to the correct official parking lot, lots of people dressed like official rangers that will mis-direct you to their own private lot. There's no plastic bottles allowed, so bring metal water bottles, and there's a restaurant on the premises that takes cash or credit cards; they have sandwiches and smoothies and ice cream.

National Park with sleepy beaches - Beautiful national park. The oldest in Costa Rica. It is very worth taking a guide who will explain the history of the park and show you the animals that you might not otherwise appreciate. The beaches where the visit of the park ends are a real dream.

All right. - I had little expectation in this place from what I had read on networks.... It is true that it is the most crowded park of all we have visited, but I have to say that, despite this, we had a wonderful experience, we saw many animals, but, importantly, make the guided tour, this was fundamental. In addition to all the flora and fauna, the park has several beautiful beaches where you can swim!

Very good guide, beaches includes, seldom animals seen, to many people at the same time - We've made the tour with Carla which we would really recommend. Her knowledge about the forest and animals and her humor made this experience very good and funny. Snakes, iquanas, Faultiere, Anteater, birds, crabs... made this tour a nice one. Additional it was important for Carla not to have a big group which results in better understanding of her explanations :) But, really to many people at the same time in the park :(

A must do in MA! Be sure to get a tour guide. - So so glad we decided to pay for a tour guide. Our guide was able to hear certain noises / look in certain places and know exactly where to point his spotting scope. Only took a couple hours to get through the park. Park your car early (before 8am)! We didn’t bring anything with us but our phones and did just fine. Even the extra hike for the whale tail view was doable without extra water (drinkable fountains throughout). Bring suit if you want to get in the water after the park! A lot of iguanas, sloths, and monkeys on the beach. If we had more time we would’ve done the night tour as well (you will not be able to see everything you want during the day or probably even at night). A must do if you’re going to MA.

In the crowded Manuel Antonio - I feel lucky because we entered the park at 7.30 am (minute plus minute minus). This is because it allowed us to get to the beaches still half deserted). The park itself would also be very nice but this season there were really too many people and groups gathered to see animals, insects or outside too crowded on top of each other. The fauna is struggling to show up... obviously because of the crowd... the walks are on simple and well-kept grounds. The very professional park guards... the guides a little less...

Very overrated - The tour starts with a queue where you will have your bads checked. Make sure you have none of the banned items. We were not told about them in advance and I had to pay $5 plus 100 colones to leave a couple of torches in one of their lockers. Once in the park it was evident that it was overcrowded, making it difficult to keep up with our guide, David, who was very knowledgeable and explained things clearly. Most of the animals we saw were at a distance or were so small we could only see them through David's telescope. The only saving grace was the capuchin monkeys. There were half a dozen or so of them and the were within inches of us and one tried to open one of our bags. Seeing a mother and it's baby was the best experience. At the end of the tour we were given a bowl of fruit and some fruit juice which were good and welcome in the heat. We ended up being taken to the beach which was very crowded. At this point David said goodbye and left us there. Fortunately our tour guide knew the way out! I think Manuel Antonio is a little overrated and getting about is quite difficult.

Overcrowded and expensive. Far worse than La Fortuna and Monteverde - We came in December, which is peak season so the place is totally overcrowded. They don’t let you bring food in and there is a small cafeteria that charges the most absurd prices you’ll ever see because they understand that American tourists are willing to pay. They’re also are no other food options and you can’t bring in any snacks yourself. The animals you see are basically the same as that which you’ll see in La Fortuna or Monteverde. The only difference being that this place is a lot more crowded, and expensive. Totally not worth it. My recommendation is to avoid.
