Excellent way to spend a morning - The tour is an easy two hour float over on the grounds of a working oil palm farm. The stars of this show are basilisk lizards and curious capuchin monkeys who will frequently climb onto the boats, but of course we saw a lot of other creatures, from water sliders to many birds and even a sleeping anteater. In general the nature guides in Costa Rica are excellent, and our guide Memo was exceptional. On thé practical side: only a few mosquitoes; the boat ( and your shoes) will be dry; take the first tour in am when the animals are more active; I would recommend this flat-bottom boat over he similar kayak tour since IMHO you will see more, hear more, scare away fewer residents and sweat less.

Amazing Experience!!!! - I had the most amazing time on this tour! Our guides name was Jhonny and he was incredibly passionate and knowledgeable about the ecosystem and wildlife in the area. We tasted and smelled different species of plants in the garden area and interacted with water buffalos and monkeys. We also saw sloths, iguanas and turtles. Finished off with a great lunch meal! It was very warm, about 85 with a UV index of 10. I suggest you bring plenty of sunscreen and a hat!
Thanks to the staff and jhonny! PURA VIDA!!

Amazing Tour with Jhonny - We did the mangrove boat tour, and it was a great way to spend several hours. Jhonny was our tour guide, and he did a fantastic job explaining the local palm plantation, water buffalo, and wildlife along the river. It was an easy going boat ride where we had ample opportunity to learn about the local landscape and ask questions. The Costa Rican lunch afterwards was delicious as well. I would definitely recommend this experience!

Book with this company! - What a wonderful eco-tour this was! We looked at several companies offering Mangrove tours nearby and Nacarcosta Wildlife Adventure was the most impressive choice — they did not fail to exceed our expectations! The grounds were very well kept and it housed many unique plants, flowers, and herbs. They also have an eco-farm on the grounds where a very affectionate donkey stole my heart. The outbuildings were in very good condition and the staff were AMAZING! Johnny, our tour guide, was incredibly knowledgeable of the breadth of plants and animals and spoke very good English; he was open to questions and conversation, and really made the tour very enjoyable. He is also very passionate about the importance of the Mangroves on the local ecosystem and it came through in his duties as our guide. We saw various birds, monkeys, lizards (incl. Caymans, Basilisks, Iguanas, and “Jesus Christ Lizards!”), Costa Rican raccoons, Farmer Ants doing their thing, and more! When we returned, we had a delicious lunch. Having seen other boat tour companies pass by on the river, and not very happy faces on the boat occupants, I’m very happy we chose Nacarcosta Wildlife Adventure and I cannot recommend them enough. Pura Vida!

Best mangrove tour Manuel antonio area - Met our guide Jonny on arrival, he was very kind and informative. we felt lucky to have him as our guide on this tour.
We saw lots of birds, lizards, monkeys and even a raccoon who almost jumped into our boat.
Johnny respected nature and showed us the gardens, plants and told us lots about all of it. We stopped for food which we loved! I would highly recommend this tour and would go on it again. Brilliant fun. Even met a water buffalo!

A fun, beautiful and informative tour. - This tour was fun, beautiful, and informative. My wife and I went with our adult daughters. We were visiting Costa Rica for the forth time. We have been on many tours and adventures but were unfamiliar with the mangrove forest.
The tour was very interactive. We got to see birds, crabs, flowers and trees up close. We tasted fresh coconut milk. We learned that mangroves are resilient and adaptive. They seem to have been created to assist humans and the planet (an important source of O2).
Mangroves are some of the toughest forests in the world. Basically, mangroves are the ultimate survivors and an important environmental ecosystem.
We all enjoyed a beautiful boat ride and learned more about this interesting, unique, important ecosystem.

Wildlife and flora. It was a very good tour. - We took the boat into the mangroves. Our guide was very knowledgeable regarding the plants and the wild life. We saw iguanas, cayman, raccoon, white faced capuchin, a boa snake, birds of many varieties. We went in the morning, the tour ended around 10:30 and they served us a traditional Costa Rican breakfast.
