Are you ready to explore the highlands of Costa Rica?
San Gerardo De Dota is the home and nesting area of the Resplendent Quetzal, renowned as one of the most beautiful birds in Central America. The adventure begins early in the morning because quetzals rest in the lowlands and move to the upper lands in search of food at dawn. You will have the chance to admire hummingbirds, flycatchers, woodpeckers, hawks, wrens, tanagers, and many more. It is an excellent destination for peaceful hikes and birdwatching, thanks to the locals who, as private owners, preserve the untouched beauty of the forest.
After some birdwatching and enjoying the quetzals, breakfast will be provided, followed by a descent to the lower lands to spot other birds. Throughout the day, water and snacks will be available to keep you energized for continued birdwatching.

- Remember animals are not held in captivity and the national park is not a Zoo, We promise to do our best to find as many animals as we can, but we can’t warranty that you will see certain animals are certain times.
