Roots to River company in Manuel Antonio Costa Rica - White Water rafting - I would 100% recommend this company if you are looking for an adrenaline rush while knowing you are safe chuting down the Chorro section of the Nahranja River. This was simply an amazing experience for myself, my husband and my teenage son. We had read some scary info about white water rafting this section on the web but once we spoke to JJ who is an owner of the company, we were convinced this was a must do. He and his crew have grown up on this river and even compete professionally so you can be certain they know what they are doing. Roberto was our guide on the raft with us and he is exactly the type of person you want with you to ensure an exciting and safe adventure. He has the intensity to make sure you are following instructions when necessary and smiling and chatting when coasting. His ability to switch modes so quickly is amazing. There are some intense rapids, which makes the experience worth it, but I would not do it unless I had someone as experienced as Roberto guiding me. The whole experience was so wonderful, right from our hotel pick up. JJ is super friendly and outgoing, we felt like we were on a guided tour as he explained a lot about Costa Rica’s history and ecosystem on our drive to his office. He even stopped at an ATM for us to grab some cash. At his office, they served us some refreshing fruit and delicious naturally brewed coffee. We got to see a turtle and little cayman that hang out in the pond outside their office. From there we headed to the river (a private tour which was significantly cheaper than the bigger companies advertised on Google) again with descriptions of all the little areas we passed through. While we enjoyed the adventure with Roberto navigating in our boat, JJ was in his Kayak taking videos and pics that they later shared with us. This was a perfect way to end our week in Costa Rica, leaving us wanting more adventures like this in the future. They are a small business with only locals who know the river well. Although this was our first time white water rafting, we never felt unsafe because they take the time to explain everything and make sure we understand, test us before heading out into the rapids and correct us quickly and encourage us helping us feel confident. At the end they gave us more delicious fresh fruit and drove us back to our hotel. I really appreciated their honesty and kindness which comes from a small and intimately run business. Don’t hesitate to book with Roots to River. Not only will you have the time of your life, you can be assured that you are in great hands with the years of experience these guys have! Pura Vida!

A BRUTAL Experience - It was an impressive tour, we enjoyed as girls, I would definitely recommend it to everyone, the guide Jesus is a crack like the rest of the team, they have a lot of experience and make the tour 10! It was mother's!

Loved this trip - What a blast this trip was. Pablo was our guide and Kenneth was our "protection" in case we got thrown out of the raft. They were both great. The rapids were challenging and we got wet but never felt unsafe. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Unforgettable Christmas Adventure with Family and Exceptional Guide Ulises - We were two families spending a few days and celebrating Christmas, and we were happy that my compadres, my sister-in-law, and her family decided to join us. It was their first time doing this activity, and we had a great guide, Ulises, who treated us exceptionally well. He was very polite, and everything was perfect – the water was amazing, the waterfall was beautiful, and the site was top-notch. There’s nothing like being in nature and enjoying time with family. Great photographer, and security team, There were no mosquitoes or heat, the food was delicious, and everything went well, thank God.

The rafting experience... - The rafting experience was very seamless. The rafts are for smaller groups and the waters are intermediate but nothing too extreme. Wear clothes that will get soaked, and need strapped shoes that will get soaked. The lunch was average typical food. The guides were great! There is a photo option for after but they don’t push you to buy it.

Great company. - Great company. They did everything they could to make our boat trip. Safety was a top priority so don't worry or hesitate.

Really recommended, super fun - It was an amazing experience, the guides where really good (Jesus, Ulises, Jonathan and Kenneth) I definitely recommend to take this adventure. They are really professional and friendly. At the end of tour they gave us something to eat that was very tasty! 10/10 experience
