Making Memories on a Mother/Daughter Trip - My sisters and I, along with our daughters truly enjoyed the excursion to the Mayan Ruins. We heard the history of the area and the history of the Mayan temples. The most memorable part was having lunch with a Mayan family. The freshly made salsa was delicious as were the chicken, tamales, rice, black beans, and flan for dessert. Making a hand made corn tortilla was fun also. Our tour guide knew a lot about the history of the Mayans and about the geography of the area.

Wonderful experience, delicious food - Had ample time to see the ruins and get a little bit of history about them. The Mayan experience had delicious food, and it was quite eye opening to see the areas outside of the touristy Costa Maya. If it was truly authentic I can't say, but everyone was kind, polite and I felt very safe the entire time. Recommend for families and anyone looking to get a out-of-the-usual experience!

Excellent visit and amazing food! - Unique and special experience and fantastic food! Elliott is so knowledgeable about so many things; he made our excursion amazing. The wonderful ladies who cooked our lunch and taught us how to make tortillas added a special touch!

Good experience. - The tour guide was excellent. The timing for each part of the experience was well kept. The group size was very good (10). My only complaint was that I made a reservation for a tour in Spanish (to benefit our mother) and it ended up being in English.

Wow! This was such an... - Wow! This was such an amazing experience! Edder and Abner were fantastic guides. Pickup was smooth (everyone is correct that you need to walk well outside of the port the kiosk is across from a large monument) and waters were provided. The ruins was awesome and Edder was incredibly knowledgeable. However, the star of the afternoon was the trip to the Mayan village. The food was delicious and the people were amazing. This tour was 10/10!

Very nice experience - We went with our 13 year old grandson and we will loved the experience. The food was delicious and we had a hands-on chance to make tortillas. He wasn’t as crazy about the ruins but we figured it was because of his age.

Awesome unique and memorable experience! - EXCELLENT! We were just looking for a wheelchair friendly trip for my wife to see a Mayan ruin. I had no idea how awesome this particular tour is. When they say real Mayan meal, they are not kidding! This is not some fake Disney Mayan experience. These beautiful ladies teach you how to make your own tortillas in a small native village where the tour guides really live. Then you eat a fabulous lunch. Eric was our tour guide and his knowledge was not only extensive, but he had personal history AND PHOTOS from his youth to share. This is a little hard to find but is an absolute MUST EXPERIENCE. Be forewarned though, if you’re not adventuresome and eager to try new things, you’re going to a real village and not a New York diner. If you want that fussy stuff, stay home otherwise the adventurous will experience something memorable.

An amazing family cultural educational experience!! - Great communication and directions to this local independent tour operator!! The ruins at Chacchoben are awesome and the guides are friendly, knowledgeable and informative, but the best part is the local family meal experience !! You learn how they live, what the grow and eat, you get to try your hand at making a traditional tortilla ( don’t worry, abuela will make it perfect for you) and you get to indulge in a scrumptious meal!! This was a highlight of our cruise PS. Get the mango, pineapple and coconut at the ruins!!! So good!!
