Mayan Cacao Co. - An amazing Chocolate & Margarita experience - Eduardo was a fantastic host, bringing the history of cacao in Mexico to life. He was extremely knowledgeable and guided us through old and new traditions, as well as process of making chocolate and chocolate margaritas with much encouragement! The ladies in the shop were lovely too allowing us to sample all the delicious chocolate we liked, they even booked us a taxi to get back to Central Cozumel. Definitely worth a visit, book in advance.

Perfect Family Experience - We had the absolute BEST time with Eduardo as our tour guide! He was funny, personable, knowledgeable, and very patient with our 2 year old daughter. We did the chocolate and margarita experience and they provided our daughter with a non-alcoholic version of the margarita. Everything was delicious, including the tortilla with mole sauce. We loved the entire experience and will definitely be doing it again next time we are on the island. HIGHLY recommend!!! Thank you Eduardo!

Educational and FUN! - Highly recommend this experience! We booked the “Chocolate and Margarita Workshop” and it was great! Don’t let the photos fool you into thinking this is just a tourist trap. It turned out to be an informative and fun way to learn about the Mayan culture. Don’t be alarmed when you arrive at a seemingly abandoned beach club/shopping mall. We were greeted by lovely ladies who introduced us to Paty, our exceptionally well-informed and enjoyable guide. She introduced us to the history of chocolate, how and where it is grown, how it is prepared, and the role it played in commerce, religion and politics throughout history. She obviously took great pride in the significance of the Mayan culture and its role in the spread of chocolate worldwide. And then…the hands-on chocolate experience began! She instructed us we made Mayan chocolate from scratch , using ancient tools and grinding the beans and mixing in the traditional ingredients. It taught us new respect for the ancient practice! And then…the margaritas!! We made the most delicious margaritas with chocolate, tequila, chocolate liquor, and cream. Deliciosa! ! Hands down the most delightful way to spend a few hours. Will never eat Hersheys again! Thank you, Paty!
