Fun little tour - This was a fun little experience. Took about 2 hours to learn about chocolate and make our own! Our guide Paty was incredible as well! If you have some extra time on the island, would recommend this.

Great Tour! Great History Lesson! Great Demonstration! and Great Chocolate! - Got a tour with my Cruise ship here. Included a short video, chocolate tasting, demonstration/preparation/history, shopping, and they even have a bar. chocolate Margarita anyone? Patty was our 'guide' in the preparation area and she is funny, informative, and happy! Her enthusiasm was infectious. They have 12 or so different barred chocolate you can try at end of your visit. i tried 2, (bought just the cocoa powder and a bar). Note: the chocolate is pricey. But I love the Banana and cardamom flavor. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to learn more about the history and preparation of authentic Mayan chocolate.

Chocolate making demonstration by Paty. - Thoroughly enjoyed the chocolate making demonstration presented by Paty. She was expert in her knowledge and presentation skill. Great sense of humor and wonderful personality - very charming. She would do well in a bigger role like Disney World.

Great family activity for chocolate lovers! - My children, ages 12 and 10, loved this workshop! Eduardo was so knowledgeable and guided us through the process of making our own personal chocolate bars. We ground the nibs into a paste, and he let us personalize our chocolate with the additional ingredients (e.g., coconut, chipotle pepper, amount of sugar, etc). The gallery was fantastic and very educational, along with seeing a few cacao trees trying to grow. The handmade tortillas with pumpkin seed & cilantro was an added bonus. While we didn't opt in for the Margarita workshop, my husband and I were able to purchase our choice of chocolate drink at the end. If you want a quick excursion (1 hour), this is a great option!

Good for an hour of fun and great keepsake - Gift shop workers were not very friendly but our guide for the chocolate experience Paty was great! Explained everything clearly and helped us make our own chocolate bar from ground cacao beans.
