Salsa while making salsa!! - This was one of our favourite things we did while in Mexico recently! Lily is very welcoming, friendly and funny while imparting her amazing knowledge of Mexican cuisine. It’s a hands-on class in Lily’s beautiful home to the north of Tulum where you make a full meal from scratch, learn about the ingredients, methods and what not to do. Dancing while cooking is highly encouraged! The ingredients are fresh and delicious and the menu is varied. We all loved making the tortilla and quesadillas and sitting down all together at the end to eat what we had created. We also learnt about Mezcal and did a tasting with orange segments and tajin. Lily is a great hostess with a sharp wit and makes you feel very welcome. Her small team of helpers worked hard and were also very accommodating. When the class was finished, Lily gave us a list of good places to go in Tulum for a variety of things, booked us a taxi and sent us the recipes from the day and many more of her family favourites. As a family of four with two teen boys, we all had a brilliant time and would definitely recommend. It’s best to contact Lily via email or what’s app and she responds quickly when not in a class.

Private, authentic, experience! - Th class was very hands on. My boyfriend and I had an awesome time participating in this experience. It is small group and intimate, really learning about the history of these authentic dishes! Our host was amazing. She is such a delightful authentic energy. 😍

Fun cooking - As well as imparting her cooking skills, Lily was great fun. Her home was beautiful, bright and spacious. We cooked, ate and chatted together. We now feel confident in making tacos, guacamole and salsa but Lily also gave us a list of things to do and places to eat at. We had a great night at the Palma Club on her recommendation too!

Lily the life of the party! - Lily was easily the highlight of our trip and arguably the best date we ever been on! The welcoming experience was outstanding and she did a great job teaching us how to cook. Also her assistants were outstanding as well. I will stay in contact with her.

Great class for all ages and backgrounds - Our family of four took a cooking class with Lily and her two assistants on June 16. Her home was easy to find and had plenty of room for the group of 12 students. Lily's personality made the whole class fun, lighthearted, and educational. She spoke about her family's traditional recipes and why certain ingredients were used. We got to make homemade tortillas, salsa, grilled cactus salad, quesadillas and chicken pastor. We loved that it felt like a little anthropology lesson embedded in a cooking class. There was also as much wine, beer, water and watermelon juice to drink as you wanted. I would definitely recommend to others visiting the area!

An almost perfect morning with Lily ... - Lily lives with her family in a beautiful gated community. We were greeted warmly by her son and got to know Lily. She has a really warm open nature. It makes you feel right at home. She explained something about the food in Mexico and presented the battle plan for the day. The menu included tacos, quesadillas, guacamole, salsa roja meat al pastor and cactus. Everything was very tasty and a healthy mix of watching and making yourself. After that, food was fed together. Everything tasted fantastic. Unfortunately, despite demand, I have not received the recipes for recooking to date. Therefore only 4 out of 5. Otherwise it would be a clear 5+! Danke Lily 🌺
