We will then travel through the Avenue of the Volcanoes, where the guide will provide information about the visible volcanoes, weather permitting.

Cotopaxi National Park - Embark on a hike in Cotopaxi National Park, home to one of the world’s tallest active volcanoes.

Next, we will visit the Limpiopungo Lagoon.

Canon del Rio Toachi - This canyon is formed by pyroclastic flows originating from the Quilotoa volcano. The canyon’s base consists of pumice, lapilli, and volcanic bombs, with an estimated age of 1800 years.

Laguna Quilotoa - Guided exploration of Quilotoa, a 3km-wide turquoise volcanic crater lake.

Time allocated for lunch.

Salcedo - Stop for renowned Ecuadorian ice cream en route to Baños.

Baños - Drop-off at Central Park in Baños.

BioParque Yanacocha - Visit the Yanacocha Animal Rescue Center to observe various rainforest animals.

Puyo - En route, visit a Paiche hatchery. The Paiche, native to the Amazon jungle, is the largest freshwater fish globally.

Finca Mirador Indichuris - Visit an orchid and botanical garden. Hike through the jungle to a breathtaking waterfall and the Indichuris lookout. The guide will discuss the Andes mountain range, the significance of the Pastaza River, and the communities along its banks when the active Sangay volcano is visible.

Ingapirca Ruins - If visiting from Thursday to Sunday, explore “Ingapirca,” meaning ‘wall of the Inca,’ a pre-Columbian site in southern Ecuador.

This four-hectare archaeological complex is a must-see for those interested in the Qhapaq Ñan.

If visiting on Monday or Tuesday, explore “Baños del Inca,” a notable archaeological site with interconnected ponds carved into rock reliefs.

Biblian - Visit the majestic Sanctuary of the “Virgen del Rocío,” a key tourist attraction in Biblián canton. If open, explore its interior and art.
Taste traditional “Cascaritas,” baked pig leather, en route.

Transfer to Cuenca City.

Chordeleg - Located in the Santa Bárbara river basin in Azuay province, Chordeleg was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2000. It is renowned for its fine filigree jewelry, including high-quality gold and silver necklaces, bracelets, and earrings.

Pumapungo Museo - The Museum and Ethno-botanical Park of Pumapungo offer insights into the Cañari and Inca cultures. It serves as an educational space with ongoing archaeology training and research programs to educate the public about the ancient Andean worldview.

Mirador de Turi - Named from the indigenous word kuri, meaning gold, Turi is 10 minutes from the city center. According to Inca history, Turi Mountain was a place of worship. This viewpoint offers a unique panoramic view of the city.

El Cajas National Park - Located in Azuay province, southern Ecuador, where the Andes are older with less volcanic activity. The area features extensive highlands with abundant water, including 165 lagoons over 1 hectare and 621 under 1 hectare, totaling 786 bodies of water.

Laguna La Toreadora - Accessible via the Cuenca – Molleturo – Puerto Inca road, about 40 kilometers from Cuenca. The site includes the Park’s Technical Office, an interpretation center, and trail access.

Hacienda Cacao y Mango - An agricultural farm focused on agrotourism, offering agricultural tours, typical food, and recreational activities.
Lunch time on the farm (1 hour) is not included.
Transfer to Guayas province to visit a traditional farm.
