- Cotopaxi - Experience the thrill, excitement, and nostalgia that the Chagras feel daily as they work in the majestic Andes mountains! A naturalist guide will pick up the group at 7:10 a.m. to head to “El Pedregal,” situated 60 km southeast of Quito, nestled among the Rumiñahui, Pasochoa, Sincholagua, and Cotopaxi volcanoes! After a 90-minute drive, the group will arrive at a traditional regional hacienda, where a “canelazo” will be served as a welcome drink. Participants will have the chance to don traditional Ecuadorian Chagra attire, perfect for the upcoming shared horseback adventure, which will last approximately 2 unforgettable hours!
Following this remarkable experience, participants will bid farewell to their horses to enter the National Park. Around 2:00 p.m., upon reaching the Cotopaxi volcano (19,347 ft), they will be surrounded by ancient dried lava flows, mountains, lakes, wild horses, and ecosystems that astonishingly transform with elevation! Participants will also encounter exotic wildlife while engaging in various activities offered during this thrilling adventure! The group will return to their hotel in Quito by 5:00 p.m.
