Memorable experience — but know what you're paying for - We saw spectacled bears in the wild, which is genuinely special. The canyon site is impressive, the guide and driver were professional, and the surprise laguna stop was a nice bonus on a long day (13 hours, 2 AM pickup). A few honest notes: the bears are across a canyon, so distance is real. A working telescope matters. Ours wasn’t functional, which was the main letdown. Water isn’t included, so bring your own. Also budget an extra $20 pp paid directly to Danilo, the local conservationist who runs the site. This isn’t mentioned upfront. For the price, these are reasonable expectations that weren’t fully met. Fix the telescope and be transparent about costs, and this is a five-star day.
