The basilica is notable for its towers, which offer stunning views of the city, the National Pantheon of Heads of State, catacombs, three chapels, and the Oblate convent.
Plaza de la Independencia (Plaza Grande) - Known to locals as Plaza Grande, this is the main square of the Historic Center and serves as a political, symbolic, and historical hub of the city. Surrounding this historic square are the Palace of Carondelet (Government Palace), the Cathedral of Quito, the Archbishop’s Palace, and the City Municipality. At the center of the square stands the monument to independence.
Fundacion Iglesia de la Compania - The Society of Jesus is one of the most significant Catholic temples in Latin America. Its facade, carved from volcanic stone, and its gold leaf-covered interior make it a prime example of baroque and syncretism. The temple, belonging to the Jesuit order, began construction in 1605 and houses unique paintings and artworks.
Iglesia y Convento de San Francisco - This church, with its baroque style, and the large plaza of Quito are noteworthy.
La Virgen del Panecillo - This sculpture atop the Loma of Panecillo represents the Virgen de Legarda or Virgen Apocalyptica, a Quito creation from the 18th century. Installed in 1975, it stands 41 meters tall and is one of the tallest monuments globally. Made of aluminum and seated on a stone base, the Panecillo hill is also a charming natural viewpoint.

Quilotoa Lagoon
Laguna Quilotoa - The Quilotoa Lagoon is located two and a half hours from Cotopaxi National Park, in the province of Cotopaxi. Situated within the Ecological Reserve Los Ilinizas, Quilotoa is an inactive volcano with a 6 km diameter, formed by a 2.9 km wide caldera and 640 m (2,099 ft) deep. The lagoon, with its emerald green color, resembles a mirror and measures 3.6 km in diameter and 240 m (787.4 ft) deep.

Chimborazo Refuge Hike - The Chimborazo volcano, the highest in Ecuador, is located in the renowned Avenue of the Volcanoes, spanning the provinces of Bolivar, Chimborazo, and Tungurahua. Baños de Agua Santa
