Quan Ba Heaven Gate - As you depart from the city, the first major highlight of the Ha Giang loop is Quan Ba Pass. Reaching the top of the pass, you’ll find a small café, an ideal spot for a drink and a restroom break. However, the main reason to pause here is the breathtaking view of the Ha Giang mountains, offering a glimpse of the stunning landscapes that await you in the days ahead.
Afterward, descend the mountain pass to Quan Ba town, making a stop halfway at a parking area. It’s easy to miss, as there’s nothing immediately noticeable, but from here, you can climb the stairs to a viewpoint that offers a picturesque view of the Twin Mountains, also known as the Fairy Breast mountains.
Yen Minh - The journey from Yen Minh to Sa Phin takes you over the Tham Ma Pass, one of the impressive mountain passes in the UNESCO Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark. A winding road leads to a small parking area where you can capture photos of this scenic pass.
Dinh Vua Meo - The Hmong King’s Palace in Sa Phin is built in a Chinese architectural style, primarily using wood, stone, and terracotta tiles. It is one of the oldest structures in the region, originally constructed to protect the Vuong family from attacks. The family amassed wealth through trade, particularly in opium.
Dong Van - Dong Van is a principal town in Ha Giang, often chosen by travelers for an overnight stay during their Ha Giang loop. The historical section, known as Dong Van Old Quarter, features preserved architecture dating back centuries. At night, it offers a cozy atmosphere perfect for enjoying the surroundings. Behind the Old Quarter, an old French Fort atop a mountain provides views over the city and surrounding mountains.
Dong Van - Du Gia
Nho Que River - The Nho Que River is part of the stunning scenery from the Ma Pi Leng Pass. There are also hidden roads that lead down to the river, where you can embark on a one-hour boat trip between the towering cliffs of the pass.
Meo Vac - If you happen to be in Meo Vac on a Sunday, you’re in for a treat. The Meo Vac market is the largest minority market in Ha Giang and one of the most remarkable markets in Vietnam. It starts very early in the morning and begins to quiet down around 11:00 AM. The market includes a livestock section where people bring their animals not only to sell but also to showcase. The streets are lined with stalls selling everything from local products to cell phones. The indoor market serves as a large food market, offering fresh food and small stalls where meals are prepared over an open fire.
Du Gia - Ha Giang
Lung Ho - Lung Ho in Ha Giang is a captivating destination for tourists, especially young adventurers eager to explore and conquer new terrains. This commune in Yen Minh district spans about 54 km2 and is divided into 23 villages.
Quan Ba - Lung Tam is renowned as a traditional craft village specializing in brocade weaving by the Hmong people on the Dong Van plateau in Ha Giang province. In addition to brocade products that are popular among both domestic and international visitors, the unique weaving process in Lung Tam village is a notable attraction for visitors to Quan Ba district.
